Default Wheel sizes

Hey all sorry if this has been covered.
16 gt4
I see the recommended wheel sizes but I’m being told from a Porsche specialist that
“I would suggest the 19x10 and 19x11 to run 275/675/19 and 315/705/19.”

and that this would allow me to run pirelli P Zero tires

and that they run small so shouldn’t be a problem.

I have the stock suspension set per the limits of stock discussed on the original Wiki page.

apex wheels would be what he sells.

any thoughts? I don’t want rubbing and might be able to still fit the PZero “takeoffs” on a 9.5 up front but the 10 is the Recomendation.

would love some input.
thanks In advance.

Here's an awesome write-up by Apex themselves, direct from the source with specifics:

https://support.apexraceparts.com/hc...-Fitment-Guide

Personally, I went with 19x9 and 19x11 and it's nice and flush. Running 265/35/19 / 305/30/19 with no rubbing and really flush fitment.

this is very helpful, thank you.
when I spoke to Apex they said stay away from slicks for a few years as they hide mistakes and are less forgiving at the limit.
im assuming everyone would agree?

BTW, stock rims.
I went with N1 Cup2 tires, after running a full season on RE71 last year, I can say these are about a half second quicker. Jury is out on wear rate. I'd like to do a back-to-back with Goodyear SC3, but it seems the SC3 is a hair slower than RE71.

what tires did you go with? I just got some Titan7 wheels and thinking of doing the cup2s, i know the cup2s usually are meatier then other tires

I ran RE-71 and they've been awesome. Just a bit hard to find as they're being discontinued (fingers crossed the s version of them come state side).

Default brake caliper bolts

You talk about the brake caliper bolts being replaced. Why? are they a Torque to yield? I just did my brake pad replacement on my 981 PCCB at 11k miles. from what i know i installed the 3rd brake pad set on this car. Im trying to keep the life of the PCCB rotors by replacing the brake pads more often. But i read the torque spec of these caliper bolts are 63 ft lbs. this does not seem to be a torque to yield bolt at only 63 ft lbs. But what i did notice is blue loctite on these bolts. i cleaned and reapplied. but i noticed the front are a 10MM allen and the rear calipers are a T55 tork. Are these bolts supposed to be mismattched?

Specifically, I have the following Tackform 20mm Enduro Series components plus a GoPro aluminum cage (note - couple of the items are currently unavailable and you would need to substitute). It's a great setup and very stable.

With my B RE71Rs gone, like many others, I'm looking for good options.
What are you hearing about the new continental hoosier 200tw?
The calculated best sizes are not available for our cars, but it's close.
The fronts are fine with 265/35/19; however, the rears are a little off with 295/30/19.
If any of you have run those sizes, please share your experience.
Thank you!

I’ve tried to search through this entire thread. Wondering if OMP HTE-R (not XL) will fit, and whether the halo makes egress too difficult with the stock steering wheel. I expect it will be used almost exclusively on track, but I’m not 18 any more…..

With the RE71s discontinued I'm now running Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars on my stock rims. Loving them two track days into the experience. They are also available in an "R" compound which I didn't purchase.

I've been running Goodyear Supercar 3s and they are very close to the RE71R. They are a good tire. I have a set of Falken RT660 that I'll be trying in September. Hoping I can take two sets of wheels and run the Goodyears and Falkens back to back.
