Zip tie your rear brake ducts
I did my tech inspection for a track day this week and realized that I left the bottom parts of both my rear brake ducts somewhere in the field of wildflowers outside of turn 1 at TWS two weekends ago.
Moral of the story. Zip tie your brake ducts together if you're on the track, so you don't lose them if you ever go off. They seem to be lowest pieces at the bottom of the car and easy to catch on something.
At least they were cheap to order new from Porsche.

I had a pro drive my car there and he did a few 1:51:xx laps on a slighty damp track.
Now, you always use ShakeNBake as a benchmark. He did a 1:48:9X last time out there if I remember correctly, albeit on hoosiers and with some mods.

Here are some reference points: I have talked to few guys with GT4's out there and most of us mortals in the advanced groups, on oem tires, are probably running 1:53 - 1:55 out there, depending on the day, weather and traffic.

I'm about to get my car on a lift to tighten sway bar fasteners prior to a track weekend, so I'm planning to do this. Just so I'm clear, the brake ducts aren't zip-tied TO anything here? You've just wrapped zip ties around the ducts themselves to keep the upper half attached to the lower half? Does this work as adequate protection because the only risk is losing part of the ducts rather than the entire thing? Are the ducts actually designed as a 2-piece assembly, or do they simply tend to break apart in a way that only the bottom part is lost?

Who knows if it will be enough? Time will tell, but nothing to lose and makes it a bit more sturdy.
