How do you wash your cars?
So how about it?
Waterless wash? Power wash? Hand wash? Or....the old mechanical car wash!?
991 and GT4 get hand washed.
VW (ceramic coated) and FRS tend to get automated touch less washes.

I hand wash all my cars. Use lots of foam to wash the car. Then rinse it with a normal garden hose water. Not a believer of power wash stuff.

For normal routine washes I use the two bucket method with grit guards. I use a brand new wash mitt each time to reduce the risk of contamination. I use Chemical Guys citrus wash or Meguiars Deep Crystal wash and work from the top down saving the side skirts for last followed by the wheels. I then dry with an absorber I have marked for each of my cars and then use my electric leaf blower to get the remaining water out of the crevices after. I take my wedding band and belt off before starting. If I drop something on the ground it goes in the trash immediately.
For paint correction or full detail I will: dawn wash, clay, dawn wash, blow dry, air dry, painters tape the trim, using a Porter Cable 7424XP polish with the least aggressive Meguiars # necessary to correct, finish with Meguiars ultimate polish, and apply Collinite 845 wax with overnight curing finishing with isopropyl alcohol on cotton swabs to clean up excess dried polish and wax on seals and panel seams. If I'm between waxing a I will sometimes use Opti-Seal as quick protection. The garage, which I will have previously swept and leaf blown hours before, stays closed while I'm doing all of this until the job is done, clean room.

I leave my spare keys with a mate who is as obsessive as some of the people in this thread so when I go overseas I send him a message that I'm off for a month and the car is really dirty. When I get back it's got a few more miles on it and looks fantastic. Its a cleaning system that works well for me.

I use a California car duster, then waterless car wash spray (Meguiar's usually, sometimes Optimum), ultra plush microfiber towels. Sonax for the wheels.
I don't daily the car and I don't drive in the rain. No need for deep clean. Doing the above regimen weekly has kept the car meticulously clean.

Maybe you are the strange one? Nothing wrong with wanting to take good care of a car you spent good money on.
