These OZ wheels have been the go to Cayman wheel for years and have likely hundreds of thousands of cumulative track miles. Have you heard of many failures? I feel like there would be a lot of threads on this by now if it were a big problem. Not questioning that forged is better, just always been impressed that these were the shocking exception to the unicorn light cheap and strong wheel.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, I ran them for years with no issues and never heard of a failure. I just ordered and received a set of 19" OZ and if I felt there was an issue with strength I would have ordered a forged wheel. Lots of PCA Cayman race cars are running them with Hoosiers.

The general rule for serious track use is to use forged wheels. However, as others have said, some cast wheels have been very reliable. OZ wheels are among them. I have close to 100 track days on two sets of OZ wheels and they've held up fine. I wouldn't hesitate to use the 19' OZ's on my GT4. They're tough to beat for the money.
Like many other guys tracking 987's, I've been using 245/35x18 and 295/30x18 Hoosier R7's on 8.5"F/10.0"R OZ wheels. This is a terrific package for the 987.
