LWB passenger seat sub belt

LWB passenger seat sub belt
We just found out that the US spec GT4 LWB passenger seats DO NOT have provision for sub belt. You have to cut a hole in the carbon seat and cut and stitch the seat pad. What were they thinking?

I agree. Making distinctions between the driver and passenger seats only adds complexity, so I can't imagine Porsche would do this unless it were a requirement of some kind. Do ROW LWBs have sub slots in the passenger seat?

That has been the topic ever since the GT3 got these optional seats. Why would there be thinking that the GT4 would be different?

Pretty sure 4 point are prohibited by several clubs for track events.
TeamTech offers 5 and 6 point harnesses that don't require seat bottom pass through. The "JetPilot" model works nicely. I opted for these in my Z06. Long story but having to do with floor construction in Z06 and not wanting to drill the floor and use backing plates.
http://www.teamtechmotorsports.com/. Scroll to page 11 of the brochure. It looks confusing but it goes on as though a harness for sky diving. Legs go through strap and it wraps around waist/back. IF you think of bungee jump or sky dive type harness for parachute - that's what it's like.
I had the 6 point can lock JetPilot model. It has a sternum strap and lumbar strap. Very comfortable. Took a little getting used to but worked great and loved being able to remove lower half in between track events (if desired). Clipped into heavy duty eye bolts that were attached at rear end of seat rails. Vetteworks bar pictured. Attached through holes to seat rail attachment at rear. Had choice of eye bolts to attach seat portion of harness. Slick system that works nicely. Torso part of harness was more conventional attaching through seat pass throughs to bar or clip.
Team tech folks were easy to work with. I just sold mine in Nov. to someone with a Z06 race car. Should have thought about keeping them for the GT4. Oh well.

Most groups allow 3 point, and with harnesses I rarely see the 5 point requirement.
Pointless anyway unless in a lay down formula seat or a bad installed 4 point.
Than again those are the same idiots putting our lives in danger making us drive both windows all the way down...

Of all the mods we have had to make to new cars, cutting a hole in a passenger LWB seat and slicing through the cushion is hands down the most stressful and was more intense than doing the first ever 3.8L DFI swap!!!!!
