Nice series II
I have a series I (1970) in bright yellow, unrestored, and all original w/ 33kmi on the odo. It was my fathers who got it new from Bob Sharp (yes, that bob sharp, as in Scott's father, who was campaigning Paul Newman's Z-cars - he also breathed on it)... Anyway it was garaged when my father lost his eye sight in 1980...
Who do you have looking after the mechanicals of the Z?
Woah. Sounds like an incredible car with solid heritage. PM some pics. I've had mine for a few years now. Found it on craigslist and the seller recommended a great mechanic in the Atlanta area. John Williams brought her back to life, but then he unfortunately passed away last year. Now Balanced Performance are my go-to guys...
Finished installing my Cargraphics race headers from the group buy then took the GT4 for a 10 minute spin. Wow, I was grinning like a kid. With the PSE flaps closed, the sound is certainly neighborhood friendly, but with the flaps open, oh wow, it's the way the car should sound from the factory. I was grinning like a kid.
It's interesting how an easy bolt-on project can make a marked difference in your perception of the car. Hope to have a set of headers on my car by mid September.
