For 1lb why go through any extra effort? If they were half the weight I could see it, but 1lb is hardly noticeable. They're more awkward then heavy anyway. I have an Advantage lift with aluminum 36' ramps and, for the number of times I'm actually putting them on and taking them off, the weight is irrelevant.
National, probably go under several other names. Have the steel ramps (no problem) and the lifts can roll. I fastened them together front and rear with L iron
to help stabilize.
I needed extended ramps for my 911, Bendpak wanted $1500.00 Cdn for their 48" ramps. LOL. I paid 3039 Cdn for the entire lift 10 yrs ago. Anyhow here's what I did, I cut the tongue off the metal ramps that came with the lift so you are able to just lift them up for storage. I have a small garage and I didn' t like them protruding when the lift was up. Then I made wooden extensions to put under the steel ramps. These are only 2" high in order to get them to work with my car. My car has PASM so it sits 20mm lower.
Anyhow like I said my cheap solution and the wooden ramps only weight 13 lbs. I plan on putting a strap on them to make it easier to pick them off the floor.
Here a pic in up position, down position, and how I hold the ramps in the upright position.
Nice work, I paid 400 bucks for mine but let me tell you they're HEAVY! No way it's 100% aluminum. The Race Ramps lightweight are a better solution

I built a second garage and screwed up. Should have added at least another foot or two on ceiling height. The added cost would have been minimal compared to a huge benefit...
