Agree; this is annoying. Do someone have an exhaustive list of what can be coded at the dealer??

They didn't say. I just know this can be done as they fixed it on my car.

Silly question:

My kit appears to have a slot for a tool that is not there - is the headlight tool or something else missing?

Thanks, -mark
The headlight tool is in the black case
Not sure what else is in there other than those two items ?

Read back a few posts in this thread. So far the only known dealer-configurable option is this, given that window control with the fob was the only other known 981 option and has since been made not dealer-configurable.

Apparently, Porsche powers the OBD2 when the power is off. This means that an OBD2 GPS tracker will kill your battery!

Not sure why I haven't seen any issues with the OBD2 connection for my Valentine-1 yet.

BMW does too, thought this was standard. But not everything that's accessible through OBD2 while the power is on is accessible with it off, because although the port is running, not everything in the car you could talk to is. The V1 probably doesn't draw enough current to create an issue for a car battery.

I would power a V1 or GPS device from the OBDII port. Better to used a fuse piggyback connector with a separate fuse for the device. The OBDII port is not intended to power a peripheral and I would be concerned that a excessive current would damage it.

On most if not all other cars I have experience with, opening the cargo area does not automatically unlock the cabin, so I have to remember to lock the car with the fob each time I open the frunk now.
I can now confirm that I was wrong and you were right. Closing the trunk does not automatically lock the doors. I have waited for 5 min and the doors were still unlocked.
I guess I was mislead by the noises it makes while waiting and by the fact that my Turbo was 100% locking the car automatically if the doors weren't touched.

But I can confirm that if you unlock the car and do not open the doors,it will lock back up by itself in a few seconds.

Actually I think it like 2- 5 mins
There is a thing on it in the manual as if you leave someone in the car there is so kind of motion sensor that will activate the alarm if you dont do something
I forgot what that is

The automatic relock is about 30 seconds, not a few seconds but definitely not a few minutes. To disable the motion sensor when activating the alarm, lock the car as normal, then within something like 2-3 seconds press the Lock button on the fob again.

When selecting the Map on the PCM, press the button twice (once to select, once to "confirm") to bypass the annoying legal screen. Two clicks and you're in!
