Hi S2ktaxi,
Thanks for this great job of listing in detail the Spyder specs...
I can't see any PTS colour in your list. Is this normal (ii.e. Spyders with PTS have not been produced yet...)?
Best regards,
Thomas

I am very surprised that only 4 of the GT silver metallic cars have the classic interior package. I almost de-selected that because I though that it would be too common.

It's definitely a popular combo, probably to the surprise of no one. A color that is timeless, historic, roughly 1/2 the cost of PTS, and accentuates the lines of the Spyder to full effect. The Classic Spyder interior is also a compelling proposition when compared to the cost of an interior with deviated stitching. Plus, the leather in the Classic interior is a grade up from standard Porsche leathers.

Those are all the reasons which compelled me to choose that combo, in addition to the fact that the gt silver interior trim matched the exterior. I'm intrigued to see if I can tell a difference with the natural leather, versus the shaved leather in regular Porsches. I heard rumors that Porsche was no longer doing the natural leather after this car, not sure if there's any validation to this… it was a level 4.

Eduardo's excellent explanation of the differences between base vs natural Porsche leathers, excerpted below, makes reference to the natural leather having a "saddle-like leather smell."
"Leather is a starting point for a car manufacturer. With the base leather, the leather is stretched and the outer layer is sanded off and a new grain is embossed into it to make it more uniform. This increases the porosity of the leather when the outside is sanded off and it accepts color better. However, it doesn't hold up as well unless a sealer is applied. So the "leather" interior is considerably changed from its natural state. It is now thinner, uniform in both grain and color, and sealed against UV and infrared damage from the sun, making it suitable for an automobile use. Since it is stretched thinner you don't notice that it is slightly stiffer.
Natural leather is not stretched. It is natural thickness and has the natural grain still intact. It is tumble dyed in large drums that constantly roll and knead it to get it to accept the color. This softens it much like you would soften a dry chamois by kneading it. It retains the natural, saddle-like leather smell without adding synthetic aromas. The comfort, if you took the time to compare it, is obvious to the educated rear end. Even though less is done to cure leather this way, it is still more expensive since you get fewer square feet of leather out of a hide. The UV and infrared sealants are introduced into the leather while it is tumbling in the dye soaked drums and like the dye, is soaked all the way through the leather rather than added with the sealant."

I had forgotten this post, thank you! I remember sitting in a macan recently with garnet red interior like the gt4, and it had a very strong (nice) leather smell.. But I didn't think about it much at the time. Is it possible the macan also had natural leather interior?? I couldn't be more excited about this car coming.

My wife and I are doing European delivery for the end of March. Still finalizing the details of the build but likely GT silver with classic interior. I was surprised to see so few European deliveries. We are very much looking forward to it.

I'm using Porsche's configuration generator site. sometimes Porsche produces out of sequence and if I'm too current, I may miss the skipped ones. Thank's for this as it helped me capture the 2 before yours that were missing. However, I can only update the online version in a couple of weeks.
