Now if we could just all convince Nitto and Toyo to make NT-01s and RRs in GT4 sizes......

I'm sure there will be many wheels eventually. CCW etc but initially Damon said :
"BBS and OZ are going to be your best picks. OZ's Ultraleggeras would be my best pick. "

Burning Brakes
When you have them on the car, please post pics. I like the style but I want to see how the fit looks on the car.

i haven't found many who likes trofeo R.
some of the posters were talking about mpss not mpsc2
also the set up for each tire are diffefent. if they did'nt change alignment from tires to tire, they arent comparing it.
some poster said tires lasted 20 track days? something is not right.
trofeo and mpsc2 they last me no more than 2 days
several posters are still experimenting with tires, nito, toyo, pirelli, michelin etc. so i m not sure their comments are yet complete you need to run multiple sets of same tires in order to compare properly.

I did a late brake test at the track in the GT4 compared to old Cayman and could not get anywhere near close to the usual braking point.
Not to mention the corner G loading is lower. At this point in time the GT4 is slower.

I got the Dunlop race max on now. They came with the car. They suck! Well, they suck on the track and are just way toooo sloooow for me. The Tread wear rating is not very low (180) but for a road tyre it is good.

The tread cannot be used between different tire brands: UTQG

I'm not sure why I always seem to go against the popular line of thought, but my personal experience has been that trofeoR suck and dunlops are at least as good as cup2 in terms of grip. My personal preference in order:
1) n spec cup2: good grip, consistent grip, better tread wear than Dunlop
2) Dunlop: maybe a touch more grip than cup2, but performance drops off more than cup2 by the end of the session. Wears away quicker than cup2
3) k spec cup2: don't grip as well as n spec, wear rate better, but heat cycle out before tread worn so better wear rate not useful
4) trofeoR: I hate them. Grip no better than cup2 based on my data, but could be equal to Dunlop based only on my butt. Very fussy tires when it comes to pressure and temps. Breakaway not as progressive or predictable. Lap times not consistent and slowest lap times of all other tires (we are talking less than 1 second margin between all tires mentioned between all 3 drivers in the same car)
Cup2 N spec at Laguna:
Dunlop at Laguna:
TrofeoR at Laguna:
Accelerometer data in the videos are not apples to apples because the device wasn't calibrated on dunlops so I used GPS calculated Gs instead. Whereas cup2 and trofeoR data is from calibrated accelerometer

Interesting point indeed. My dealer claims that his track junkies with GT3s prefer the Trofeo Rs, claiming faster times for similar wear. He is trying to get me to switch once my MPSC2s are worn out.

Btw, me and another guy I track with (different gt3) have found the rear trofeoR wear out (on the gt3) way before the fronts do. Opposite of the Dunlop and cups. Also, rear trofeoR only last 3 days before they give up grip and rear starts to oversteer too much and times drop as much as 5 seconds
