So much for the banter of the GT4's gearing being too tall...thanks for sharing Joe!
While the gearing could be better, I think the issue has been blown out of proportion. Nobody ever complained about the gearing in the cayman GTS, boxster spyder, or Cayman R, and they are the same.
Frustrating and surprising that a GT cannot get a proper track alignment without modifications. I had to modifications to the GT3 to get a proper alignment as well
You're telling me. My mechanic told me he couldn't get more than -1.6 deg camber in the rear without new toe links. But -2.5 in the front was no issue. Only if you wanted to go more did you need new parts. Makes you wonder why a regular 981 can get -2.0 camber in the rear and is still adjustable in toe. They must be limiting the GT4 by design.
Calls/emails to PCNA/PAG didn't get a reply for Porsche OEM replacement parts; even when trying to go through Vu Nguyen at PCA.
I'm pretty sure he had the cutouts removed in front and max wing in back. Effectively max aero.
Potter is really talented. I tried keeping up with him in my .2 GT3 when he was driving "7/10ths" and he was gone by lap 3. The cars are supposed to be pretty equal in abilities, unfortunately, when it comes down to driver, the abilities are definitely not equal

They seemed to turn him around super quickly on the work that was done.
spmotorsport is in hayward CA.

tarett.
you need front tie rods too if you go big camber.
we spent several days testing all sorts of things out.
catch dave? if you pass him on straight, he will be ON your bumper the turn after. and be INSIDE your cabin if you dont yield.
i had many sessions friday lead and follow with dave. but spyerX didn't teach me how to empty the 64gb memory chip. i need 64TB. that was fun

now u tell me!
i also had fun with mikymu z06.
in the race i cannot match the power of GTL cars. but the start and first 2 laps, i would tail gate the GTL car (also a good friend of mine) and work him hard ;-)
dave is about 2 seconds too slow this weekend.
he used his brake at turn one too much. usually he doesn't
he also failed to go off track. that's unusual for him hahahaha. so he wasn't pushing it. liklely 8/10 all weekend.
i thnk next time at TH he will clear 1:56.
i hope hoosier never make tires for him. else it's 1;54
very promising for gt4.
shows what the car is capable of when you put a reference driver in it.
every track has one (or a few) of those guys. i get out of the way too.
Are you saying when I go to Daytona Speedway in December I should not worry about the aero? I know you are way more knowable than me but that just seems odd. I mainly do Auto X and fully agree aero makes little difference but on Daytona Supper Speedway ? Not that I am looking to break speed records. I just wanted to see if anyone could tell the difference with making aero adjustments on the GT4?
Most drivers at our (well most here) level cannot feel aero except at the extremes. I think that is the point mooty was making. Hell I can barely feel 1-2 clicks off damper adjustment s but other drivers I know do. They are much better drivers.
I'd venture to say on a roval track that tire pressures especially that right rear and sway bars ae much more important first step over aero.
