BBS Monoblock 19" 5lug Group Buy Feeler
Hi Guys,
Jaime_GT3 and I have been working this for a while. Wanted to get these but BBS didn't make them so over the last 9 months and a lot of back and forth, we have been able to have these made. These are basically a 5 Lug 19" version of the 18" GT3 cup center lock monoblock.
All below are $7750 Rennlist price. These should be much much closer to $10k, but since we helped BBS motorsports cover the costs of the drawings and forgings, the group buy pricing can be passed along to you.
Set Options. Colors are Motorsport Silver or Gloss black. (Polished or custom colors available for $600/set).
Weight of the wheels are as follows:
19 x 9.0 (19.420 lbs)
19 x 12.0 (21.592 lbs)
All wheels also have a knurled bead seat to prevent tire slippage. They also work with TPMS and factory center caps.
They are being test fitted on a GT4 now (BBS says they will fit) and will report back on the fitment. Please post if you are interested and we can share the group buy details with you.
Here are some pics of the wheel in Motorsport Polish, Motorsport Silver, and Gloss Black:

Would be best if you posted the offset on these wheels.
I don't think I would put a 295 on the rear 12" wheel and then track it. So now you are looking at a 305 minimum. And all of that is contingent on track tires being available in the necessary sizes.
Not only that, but under what conditions will this test fit occur? What if you increase camber in the rear for tracking purposes?
Well, if the car you are putting them on is approx 2 x $ of a base GT4 ..........

While the price is higher than some wheels, you will not find a higher quality wheel. HRE prices are higher than these, and they arent motorsport proven. Other big names out there in the wheel industry you will be paying a similar price for a monoblock wheel. There is a reason BBS is the supplier of wheels for a lot of OEM high end cars, as well as all their years of experience in various levels of motorsport. I can tell you other big name brands wheels that have not held up in racing conditions.

19x9 ET50
19x12 ET61
As for what conditions, they will be put on a street car and also a car that will be tracked.

No flame, but at that asking price one should expect fitment without extras.

Adding 10mm side may be possible, it is on the 997 GT3 even narrow bodies...
I haven't personally put 18" on, but heard from another rennlister that E88 and CCW 18" were a no go...

A little back story, we had these made for the 997 NB and WB originally, we're evaluating their fitment on the Cayman GT4. They're not specifically targeted at the GT4, we're looking to see if others can enjoy the beauty and strength of these very well engineered wheels.
Once we have the fitment details, we'll let everyone know. As the title of the thread said, it's a feeler for a GB...
Oh and to get the 997 GB together we had to have 20 of each type of wheel desired for BBS to be interested not an easy task...

We have 2 types of rears, the 19x12 ET61 Narrow Body fitment and the 19x12 ET48 wide body fitment
I checked the offset calculator and the widebody 997 wheels may surprisingly be more right
19x12 ET61 Inner clearance is 24mm less (toward suspension) and Outer clearance is 2mm toward the wheel well
19x12 ET48 Inner clearance is 11mm less and outer clearance is 15mm more toward the outside.
The 19x12 ET48 may be a closer bet for fitment... We'll try both...

I've already test fitted on my GT4, and I can assure you, a 12" wheel is too big, and would require tons of rear camber and a super aggressive offset.
I've said it before, for 19x11", you need around 44-46 ET, with more camber, to work.
For no camber changes, and more options and better inner clearance, 19x10.5 ET44 is the size to use, especially for those who drive to the track or just want a set of 19's for the street. A 10.5" wheel fits a 295 tire perfectly, BTW.
In terms of price, those prices are nuts. Finspeed can make the same type of spoke forged wheel for half that.
HRE is not more expensive. I already priced a set of 19" RC100 (which look better IMO) and they are ALOT cheaper than $7750.
Don't listen to these companies trying to sell the forging sizes they already have, the fact is, the rear of this car is going to need it's own special size range, to work correctly.
The fronts are no problem, any 19x8.5 ET50-60 should be fine, along with any similar 19x9 with appropriate offset.

Using the RL rim calculator above puts the rear tire/wheel combo too far inside, further than a 10mm spacer could fix
