Default Opinions on checkered side stripe

Curious on other's opinions regarding the checkered side stripe. I am not sure they would fit, but I think they would look good and be removable if desired at a later date. I'm thinking black checkered stripe for my CWM GT4. I think side stripes give the car a visual effect of making the tall doors, due to safety regulations, look more sleek/less tall.

I think it will look good if you like stripes. I do.

To look the best, it should match the wheels. If you have platinum wheels, I would suggest a 3M color (don't have chart) on their Vehicle "Wrap" material - it is a 100% perfect match to the wheels in color and sheen.

Your photo gave me the idea to look into the checkered stripes! Side stripes have grown on me and have been a part of the Porsche brand in one style or another for years. I think they look good on Porsche GT cars.

jvmax, I have bought the "Porsche" side stripe, but I am not sure if I will use it, buy a checkered one, or not add anything. The GT4 looks good and different in so many colors, wheels, stripes, etc

The checkered swoop in my opinion is not one of Porsche's better graphics, it made the 997 look toy-like.

I like the hood/roof/wing stripe popularized by the 430 Scuderia on our cars, clean and racy. But the current cars don't need big rocker panel stickers, there's already a lot going on with huge wheels/big brakes/intake scoop/wing and diffuser.

Personally, I don't need another porsche logo on the car. Maybe just a leather jacket and a hat. I think I saw that on a friends episode.

I used to think the same, but my taste/view has been changing. I likely will not do anything different to my car but buy a second set of wheels to change things around, having one set more devoted to the track. That said, I can't believe we are still waiting for after market affordable lightweight wheels for the track, etc. .

I like it on the 997RS and think it will also look good on the GT4.
