Default Prepaid Porsche Service Maintenance Program

Has any one done the math on these options to see if they actually are good value?

2 year/20,000 miles $1,150.00
3 year/30,000 miles $1,450.00
4 year/40,000 miles $2,750.00
5 year/50,000 miles $3,075.00

is there a description of what is the service? If I remember the maintenance schedule correctly, for the first 50,000 miles it's not much more than oil and brake fluid changes. If that is true, then it's not worth it.

Maybe if they covered consumables for Track Rats (fat chance!).

If they were cheaper than the alternative, Porsche likely wouldn't offer them.

I didn't read the plan yet
But aren't these cars covered under a 4 yr 50,000 mile warranty already?
Or is this in addition to that i.e adding 2, 3, 4 and 5 yrs to the existing warranty?

TIA
Regards
Ed

Eddie are you crazy...
I think this is referring to pre-paying for scheduled maintenance rather than manufacturing deficits covered under warranty.

I'm guessing this won't cover new tires. If not, I would think it's not worth it for a car under warranty. Thus far, knock on wood, in a year and a half, IIRC I've not spent close to those amounts @ my dealer for oil change(s), brake fluid flush before DE, etc. I have a complete maintenance binder for my Porsche at work, and I'll report back if my memory is faulty...T

I would not as the oil service intervals are too long if you actually drive the car. I had a leased Boxster and still cut the service intervals down.

Default Prepaid Maintenance Plan

I have this plan for my Cayenne Diesel since it needs oil changes every 5000 miles. Had I understood I could have gotten the same service at the VW dealer for half price I wouldn't have done it. BTW it is not possible to cancel once started. It just covers oil and filter changes and maybe an air filter if you have the plan running long enough.

It does not cover tire rotation, brakes, wipers either unlike the BMW plan my son has on his X5.

For the GT4 I'm doing the oil changes and saving the receipts in a loose leaf binder like I did for my 987. The car will go in for service without oil changes. My local dealer is used to me.

BMW has spoiled me with their included maintenance. For some reason I thought that was pretty standard these days but I guess not. Even still, I do in-between oil changes in my M3s because the included maintenance interval is absurd.

I figured this was done so the leasers could fold everything into one monthly payment.

If this is just oil/filters, what a ripoff! I guess not having used a dealer (ever) I am not used to those rates ...

Yea total bull ...
I don all my own oil changes ... Last time I let a dealer do an oil change on my new Porsche they left the screws out for the underbelly tray and I backed up out of the driveway and caught a edge sticking up from the driveway made a terrible mess, that the dealer did fix ( most of it anyway ) That was my last oil change at a dealer
Worthless .... I was considering getting an extended warranty that covers major stuff at some point because I keep my cars a very long time ?
