Per the various 991 RS threads, about 1500 RS in NA and about 5000 WW.

This thread's first post has a link to gmaki's North America database. Select the summary tab and at the bottom of that sheet you'll find the totals for NA. This is the most accurate info available. Don't know of a similar database for rest of world.

I have nothing to back this up, but I find it hard to believe that ROW got 3x more RSs than the US market did. I would have guessed a split closer to 50/50.
