The SA went on to explain that it shifts like a race car using paddles. Not knowing that he had lost me there,I've just asked why is their advertised price higher than the sticker MSRP on the window? He went on to say : " Because it's a " special " car and this is Manhattan after all ". All while displaying a crafty smile.
Now 2 gentlemen walk in and see a GT4 sitting there. A car that folks in the U.S. have only seen on YouTube and in magazines. They ask if it's for sale and the answer is : " yeah sure! Not only that it's for sale, but AT MSRP TOO!!! " WOW!!!
So yeah,it's either a Christmas Miracle or there's something more to the story...
I have heard horror stories about MMC. But they have treated me (as well as everyone I referred) very well. I like to think that I have a decent relationship with them. They sold me my Gt3 (last yr) at MSRP as well and allowed me to do euro delivery on it. They even gave me VIP tickets to the NY auto show.

So the car is sold AND paid for and can't be picked up for 6 months?

I don't think there is another model with Platinum Gray door pulls, but one of the colors of door pulls for the new GT3 RS is GT Silver - might be close enough. Not sure if they are interchangeable between 991 and 981 or not...

Not sure why that's so funny, there would be a lineup to buy the car on those terms and whoever the new owners is should consider himself fortunate.

Congrats!

If I had shown up an hour earlier I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

Exactly. I regard not buying it myself... Although it's going to be 5 months late. But at least you are guaranteed a car...

If I'm shelling out a 6 figure nut, I'd definitely want to be either have the car picked up and me behind the wheel driving it home. But hey, that's just me. I'm sure there will be more 918 owners selling their cars out there whether they be the owners of the dealer or not.

You only need to pay a deposit to hold the car! You pay 6 months later when you pick it up.

FYI, it was nice meeting you. I was the guy in the black and white checked shirt and jeans that was talking to you about your friend's GT4 and your GT3 vs other comparable cars (i.e. the Speciale).
