Interesting, Dunlop Sport Maxx Race instead of Pilot Sport Cup 2s.

Normally, this wouldn't be a significant issue (assuming it's just a deposit versus full purchase price).

But in this case, we're talking Manhattan.

Pay in June.

Pickup in December.

Winter in NYC =/= GT4

I am just flabbergasted that two of these actually hit a dealer lot without being sold. With all the demand for these cars that's like the Christmas miracle.
Thanks ! I am located at OC,CA now. I just moved from NY last month. All thanks my friend the thread starter 's help. I never thought I could have got GT4 this fast.

No worries Guo6367, I didn't even sit in the car. I asked the salesman nicely to just open the door for some photos and they were reluctant to do even that! Your car will be safe for the rest of the year there I'm sure.

+1 I'm going to ask my SA if she can somehow ensure that my car is shod with MPSC 2s at the factory or else commit to swapping them onto my car at delivery if it arrives with something else.

Good luck with that! The MPSC2 are in very tight supply. They use both Michelin and Dunlop to ensure that there is no hold up in production. Highly doubt your dealer will be willing to shape your Dunlop with another customer's car. Even, if they do, I would worry about buying anything from them...

I think tires are the only thing you can't spec when custom ordering a Porsche. Kind of weird if you ask me.

Yeah, I'm not optimistic. Since writing that post I've found that tires can't be specified with the factory. As for swapping, I think it's unlikely that there will be another GT4 on the lot to swap with and was instead thinking they might install MPSC2s from service inventory and take the Dunlops. I know it's unlikely, but can't hurt to ask -- same with throwing in the clear LED side markers. We are paying MSRP for the car after all though, so maybe we'll get some accommodations?

But yeah, I'll just cross my fingers that I happen to get Michelins at the factory. Worst case, the Dunlops won't last too long anyway I guess.

All US spec cars come with orange side markers. Just change it after you get your car. One of the easiest mods.
