"HARRY'S CHOICE
Despite all the accessory discussions on my forum, and the ratings below, I receive questions on recommended configurations VERY frequently. So to make my life easier, here is my personal choice of devices. This section is regularly updated. Please note that today's best is probably second best tomorrow, so please don't make me responsible if things change ;-)
iPhone5 or later. As an inexpensive alternative, you may go for an iPod touch (5th generation or later) plus an external GPS.
Important: in case you plan to record video or use one or more external sensors at a time, an iPhone4S or an iPod touch 5th generation is the entry level currently. For video recording, please plan a 32 or 64GB device.
DEVICE
RAM Mount RAM-B-166U (add the cradle matching your iPhone)
MOUNT
XGPS160 (10 Hz) for any iPhone (and other smartphones), or Racelogic's 20 Hz VBOX Sport for professional use"

I got the gear, so i will compare my Porsche app gismo vs vbox-HD. As i did drive this setup before when at the same time driven Harrys on external gps revicer and lap Times was correct. I am Pretty sure Porsche app work fin when on external 10hz gps revicer. The vbox will tell:-)

Lovely. Thanks for sharing, and congrats!

Really wish DOT regs would allow the Clubsport package to be sold Stateside.

First trackday, rain all day but the grip is fenomenal from the car as Well mpsc2. Wet grip in the M3 CSL is not even to compare, sure first generation cup,s. Butt still the grip cooming from the gt4 as a whole is superb, only 8-10 degre out as Well wet track all day. Drove the car at factory setting, still very nice.

First trackday, guys... Its loud. Sport button on you go above 95 decibel quite some. Like all Porsche gt cars, i was told to turn of the sport button. :-)

Great to see you enjoyed your first day at the track! Look forward to hearing more of your GT4 adventures.

Just a quick question: is your GT4 standard white or cmw? Not sure if mentioned in another thread?

How does the clutch and gear shift compare to 997.2 GT3, if you are familiar with that car at all. Is the clutch as heavy? Is the gear shift as notchy?

I driven a few 997 first gen gt3rs cars at track. As well driven a few on the Nurburgring and I remember it was geard different from My M3 CSL, where i go 3gear on nur in bend i had to go 2 gear in the 997gt3 Rs. Same in the GT4. But gearing is sweet, solid feel and nice revmatch to go. The gt4 drift well on wet, relly fun car. I glad to have one. It feels strong.

So cool, thanks for the hands on reports Nur93!!!

Questions for you:

1. What color are the door pulls with the standard silver stitching?

2. Did Porsche use a standard battery in the GT4 or a lighter weight battery? (no way they used Lithium Ion battery - they would have made a bid deal out of that weight savings).

thanks and keep the great reports coming!!!
