I think they use slightly lower capacity (and lighter) batteries on the GT cars. There are aftermarket AGM (Glass Mat) and Lithium batteries that will drop a bunch more weight and cost much less than the optional Porsche Lithium batts.

Here is one well known company:

AGM Series (I've been using AGM in my 911 for years and while not as light as Lithium, they are way cheaper and easier to own):

I already have a 2 camera NON -HD VBox it worked great in my OBDII cars but little clunkier in my old racecars.

Will most likely just buy a VBox HD for RS but if the Porsche app works, I may retrofit it and add external GPS, I read somewhere that its possible to install app even if car was built without..

Please keep us posted here, thanks for sharing

Will do. At this trackday there was not allowed to pass cars other than on the straights as well not allowed to time laps, hence did not bother to hook things up. But My gt4 is sent on a transporter among 22 other cars (3 transport carrier) to Nurburgring. Then its two days of lappning complet full length of nur, then hook vbox and app up. 26-27 may trackday @nur.
Total 120 cars attending this event, hence no traffic at all on the loop/nur these days. Glad i got cage /6 points and a carbon hans divice Porsche lap app, yes it can be retrofitted

Thanks!

I will spend as much time as possible at the Ring, Spa, Mugello, Zolder, Zandvoort etc.
My pickup date is not 100% sure, but now I have September 25th. booked. But we know dates can move.
I've asked for 6 months insurance and I will be looking for a Harness bar and seat belt installation for Hans. Needs to be removed again before shipping to the US.

I am curious about the battery situation. I'm not sure on the 911, but the 981 the AC runs directly off the battery and therefore needs to have a reasonable large capacity. I've seen reports that the standard battery in Cayman S and GTS weighs over 50lbs. I'm wondering if the GT4 already has a lighter battery. It would seem fairly easy and cost effective to go from 50+lbs to 21lbs and still have a sizable capacity battery with the Braille 21.

I saw that you guys where having fun at Gelleråsen. Swedens old F1 track... Have fun at the ring and I will try to join you guys for the Sep event at Spa. Haven't been to Spa in more than 10 years and would love to take the 4.0 for a few parade laps. Heard one trailer was already full and they were thinking about getting a second one?

Not to much free driving, but still nice to try the car. Spa should be fun. Never been.

See the layout of the yellow racetrack? Nice gismo to keep track on the trackday pressure in tire. So two types of pressure the car Will show and moniter, street pressure and any giver favourite track pressure. I find this gismo Rather usefull, to calibrate my own handheld pressure gadget.
