Spoke to all the Houston dealers. They told me it's pretty much impossible to get one lol.
Called the dealership in Austin, and the salesperson was more helpful. He was telling me more than half of the allocations have gone to cayman owners. He still insisted that I leave my information so I did.
The manual transmission is a deal breaker, so I don't want to get a GT3. I'm in no hurry to purchase a new car so I've got time to see what else on the market will fancy me.

Interesting answer from the Austin dealership. I called them first since they're local to me, and the response from the SA was that they would take my info down but wouldn't take a deposit because they weren't confident that they would get enough allocations to get me a car based on their sales volume and the number of 918 owners who were opting for a GT4 through them -- and that was back when the GT4 was announced.
My dealer has gotten 13 allocations thus far (more than they were expecting), which as of a few weeks ago moves me up to #7 on their list; I got on the list 2 days after the car was officially announced. My SA says she expects my allocation to be a Dec/Jan build for Feb/Mar delivery. Fingers crossed!
13? Man, why are all the dealers here in norcal small potatoes?

Hi Guys ,
I was in my dealer today ( CT ) checking on my GT3RS and was told that a few more GT4 allocations were given to them today , but that the list is so long they aren't even taking deposits anymore

Of the 13 allocations I wonder how many are going to 918 VIP owners?
That is a lot of cars for one dealership but they are the only one in Austin
so it makes sense that they have a high volume thus a lot of allocations.
Don't know, didn't ask. I'm much more fixated on the number "7" than "13" in my situation, after all. But this isn't the dealership in Austin. Like I said above, I called them first but they basically said that I didn't have a shot with them.
Tried dealers in the vicinity of Dallas this morning. One of them talked about the possibility of a 918 owner getting one and then turning around and selling right back to the dealer for a higher price. Which subsequently would be sold to eager customers willing to pay a higher price. I told him I would never pay over MSRP for anything.
The other dealers I just left my information. Something like 20 people waiting per dealer.
