Any talk about a GT4RS is most likely the GT4 cup track only version which maybe dubbed GT4R or GT4RS.

Porsche is not looking to badge any street car as 'RS' other then the GT3.
They are carefull to maintain the RS badge for their top GT car and not stick it on multiple models i would think....

You sure? Weren't there 2 different RS models: GT3RS and GT2RS - 997?

Yes, the flagship GT lineup. 997GT3 and 997GT2.... both limited and expensive.

Imagine the marketing of these car if Porsche offered a boxster RS or a macan RS.....

If there is a 981.2 Cayman GT4 RS, I'll want one.

If there isn't an RS, and they just come out with a refreshed 981.1 Cayman GT4, I'll still want one.

Either way, interest is expressed for both, on my part.

And the 3rd RS, GT3 RS 4.0 (more limited and expensive).

Eeek.

85k to 125k?

Well nevermind. These days that makes sense for Porsche. Not sure I could do that on a Cayman when the GT3 is 15k more and there will probably be a .2 version. 110k is would be more reasonable.

Now that I have experienced the craziness associated with ordering a Porsche GT car, I would suggest that whether or not the rumors are true...put a deposit down NOW!

Already been on the wait list for this since, like, last year.

All I have is a gut feeling-no sources...oh it's coming! I've been right before (wrong too-Pssssssttt ). There's a market for at least 2500-3000 units Worldwide.

I'm set on the 4,hopefully with buckets, but it doesn't hurt to put 1K refundable down for an imaginary list...you never know...

Given the choice of the GT3 engine and PDK-S in a 991 or 981, even for the same price, I'd take the latter.
I prefer it over the wide rear body shape of the 991, but that's just me.

Me too! To me, many cars, including the 991, are too big and wide in the back.

I learned my lesson this go-around so I have my name down for a GT4RS (#4), a 991.2 GT3 (#2) and a .2RS (#3) at a midwest dealer.

GT3 is only $5k more - doesn't make much sense to me. Is this the same source that said the base GT4 would cost $125k?

Oops, I deleted my post as I got off topic.

I bet the GT4 RS will be extremely limited and very hard to get. Instant collector. I may need to place a deposit. I agree, it will have a more powerful 911S motor.

After getting the Viper TA 2.0 instead of my GT4 I have been regretting it. I just put a deposit on a GT4RS just in case it corms out. #1 on the list. Same place where I was number one with the GT4.
