Here's a few more numbers for the number nerds out there: stock wheels HP and torque are sort of a consensus number, engine HP and torque are the Porsche advertised and are used to calculate driveline loss to back into a engine HP and torque figure for the 4.5L, wheel HP and torque of the 4.5L are the one of my engine measure by Rick on his load-brake dyno.

By way of comparison, here’s some BMEP values as calculated by Jason over at Engineering Explained on his really good explainer video:
  • 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage: 10.6 (this was just to use as a “normal car” BMEP number)
  • 2016 MX-5: 12.6
  • 2012 Lexus LFA: 12.6
  • 2020 C8 Corvette: 13.0
  • Ferrari 812 Superfast: 13.9
  • 2020 Mustang GT: 14.2
  • 991.2 GT3RS: 14.8
  • Ferrari 458: 15.1

So yeah, 16.1 is some serious gravy.

Jason Fenske (i.e. Engineering Explained): "If your naturally aspirated engine already has a super high BMAP you are probably not going to create massive horsepower or torque improvements through modifications because the engine is already so well designed for high torque"

Rick DeMan: "Corey, hold my beer"

Here's a short driveby video.

This is a 4.5L DeMan engine, with open headers and stock PSE (valve open) and stock gearing at this point... It's going back next month to get the transmission done too. I plan on doing the same driveby after the transmission is regeared so we can have a perspective.
