No, they do not need as much time to warm up as a Sport Cup 2, Maxx Race 2, or Supercar 3R.

I’m guessing we’re pretty close, the RE-71R are on close out.

The RE-71RS looks very nice indeed. Asymmetric tread pattern so no flipping on the rims required, fixes my only gripe with the RE-71R. Extra grip and longevity would be a bonus, the RE-71R are already stellar in my experience. Based on the spec sheet looks like whenever its released there should be good 19 inch options straight away

In the meantime I may try the Goodyear Supercar 3 as they are also asymmetric and very reasonably priced.

There's a thread over at TrackHQ stating these the RE71RS model is not coming to the states per a Bridgestone rep at the Tokyo Auto Salon. I wonder if there is another model slated to come here.

I read that on a couple forums, but the fact they are discontinuing the RE71R makes me doubt that. They’ would be missing out on a huge market that is growing rapidly (track cars).

Temps were generally pretty even using my IR gun. Wear was quite good...I ate up some RE-71Rs in the very hot summer HPDE. They are an easy tire to drive, but ultimately a bit less stick than the Bridgestone's at the limit. Given the price differential, I didn't feel bad about being aggressive with them. I'd buy them again no question, unless I had money on the lap times lol....

Cup2 (N1 compound from the new 718GT4) should be as fast, but you’re gonna pay a lot more. Another option is the GY Eagle F1 Supercar 3, but they’ll be slightly slower. Discount Tire might still have stock on the rears, and maybe other small retailers might have some if you look around.

It’s just hard to believe they would not sell the new version in the U.S., given how popular the current version has been. I like everything about them much better than the Cup 2’s and still would if they cost the same.
