yeah, I saw those, but notice they are 19s. Otherwise, he’d have my Paypal or Venmo payment already.

Did anyone decide to go with the Supercar 3's instead? I assume they're alot less sticky than the RE71R's?

You assume wrong. They handle heat better too.

If you have run them, how do they compare to RE-71 or Cup2's? I'm very familiar with the RE-71, ran multiple sets over the years on my M3. They are nearly $500 cheaper than Cup2's on TR which is significant.

Would like to know too, everything I've read on them is that they are not as sticky as RE-71R

Looks like Supercar 3 still falls short compared to RE71r.

https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tests/t...b=ResultCharts

looks like ADVAN A052 is the best of the bunch in the 220TW category but it doesn’t come in Gt4 sizes either.

but subjective impressions for supercar 3 look good except for the tendency to tramline.

well availability is a factor too. If the RE71r is still not available when my tires wear out I might give supercar 3 a try. Some tire for track is better than no tire at all.

The Yok cannot handle the heat that would be experienced during a track day. Autocrossers are having to spray like crazy. The re71 doesn't handle heat anywhere near as well as the SC3. It may have lower ultimate grip, but it's likely better throughout the entire section. Several local guys have went to them from the soon to be gone re71's. They're also less expensive.

I tried the SC3 on my GT4 for autocross and didn't care for them. Some people like them, and on a grippy surface they've proven to be pretty good. On asphalt I prefer the BFG Rival S 1.5.

Be patient US GT4 owners.

The RE71R have been discontinued but they have released a new compound - RE71RS.

These are available in Australia and I have tested them on my GT4 and are significantly quicker than the old RE71R.

Unfortunately the sizes are limited to start but do some in 255/35/19 and 285/35/19. If we along with GT3 owners make enough noise they will probably make more sizes including 265/35/19, 295/30/19 and 305/30/19.

At our circuit here, RE71R was about 0.75-1 second slower than the Trofeo Rs in the same size (OEM 20in).

The RE71RS in 255/35/19 & 285/35/19 was just as quick are the Trofeo Rs in 265/35/19 & 305/30/19, so it is safe to say that if RE71RS were made in larger sizes they would be quicker than Trofeos.

As a comparison:

RE71RS did 1:03.3522 brand new on one circuit and 1:40.51 on the other (1 track day old)
Trofeo R did 1:03.3400 brand new and then did a 1:40.32 on the other (1 track day old)

Will be a great tyre for you guys once you get it

I hope so too. Saw on the S2k forum that these would be Asia only. I’m hoping it’s wrong!
