From the article:
Broadly, there is consensus on the 2015 Cayman GT4. Quite simply most publications and journalists believe this is one of the greatest sports cars ever made and a Porsche icon.
And re the Cayman GTS
The Porsche Cayman GTS is a car you buy because you can’t quite stomach the price of a Cayman GT4. It is great to drive, really quick and even has a decent amount of space. The new 718 Cayman has boatloads of torque but we hate the lack of charisma in its turbocharged four engine. We’d buy a used 981 Cayman GTS with a naturally aspirated flat six and manual box.

To be fair, that's US pricing; GB could have had a much bigger delta I suppose.

almost $10k difference

My wife and I test drove my GT4 and a heavily spec'd 718 Cayman S (Not a GTS) back to back. About two minutes into the Cayman S drive she looked at me and said...and this is word for word..."This car is a f***ing marshmallow". She then proceeded to detail what would happen to some very important body parts of mine if I purchased the 718 and not the GT4. To be clear...they were quite unpleasant things.
So I bought the GT4.
We are both happy and my important bits are still intact..although clearly owned and managed by my spouse.

This is a great read from down under and rings very true.

"The problem is that I hate the way it sounds, not just because it’s farty and flaccid and awful, but because it is entirely removed from what a proper, flat-six Porsche has always sounded like; a howl of ecstasy so pure you could wash diamonds with it. And no, ‘hate’ is not too strong a word. It riles me, even at high revs."
"My doubts about the latter were raised, hackle-like, with the launch of the 718 Cayman and its Subaru WRX-sounding turbo flat-four, but when I took delivery of a new bikini yellow GTS model I was confident that all would be resolved, because those three letters have always spelled ‘J-O-Y’ in the past."
Hahahah and this
"I am deeply saddened to report, however, that I disliked even the GTS version of the current Cayman so much that I never, even once, took it for a proper drive. Yes, I’m ashamed of me too."

and you know what's even worst...that you may think with an exhaust system the 718 sound could be improved...WRONG!!!!
At our last track day I was working on my GT4 and someone said " check out the Subaru..." I wasn't looking so I was expecting an STI but to my surprise there it was... a brand new 718 S with a full exhaust and ECU mod.
Car was pretty fast out of the box but man does the sound sucks big time.....it was even worst when I took to the track and I made several passes on my GT4 with Race Headers and GT3 exhaust conversion...no contest!

718 GTS - PDK
Great, so I can conclude both of you know zip about performance cars and don't understand the trend in suspension is to a softer setting because .....................
Utter garbage, I don't own a GT3 but do own a 981 GTS, 991.2 GTS and a 720S and I still wouldn't buy a 981 GT4. It has nothing to do with money.
