it’s defintily a buyers market right now, no doubt about it.

Everything's relative. Check out used 7-series BMWs or A8s if you want to see "buyer's market."

But yeah, compared to 14 months ago when I bought mine for 5k over MSRP with 4000 miles, it's a buyer's market.

Would I trade those 14 months for 10 grand? Nope. Which I suspect is how most of us feel.

On the other hand, my brother didn't feel so hot about selling his 16,000-mile 5 year old 996 Cab for $40,000 that he'd paid $94k for.

Not saying any warranty covers money shifts, but their existence wouldn't disqualify a CPO.
I can see dealers accepting the CPO status for everything but the engine for cars they are not selling, but I don’t believe they would ever try to sell one in that condition. My SA told me that they simply wholesale any trade-in under any warranty that is compromised. Selling the car themselves under the illusion that it is fully warranted would be tantamount to fraud. My apologies if I am not understanding you.correctly.

I made an offer on this car but then retracted it after they disclosed the amount of paint chips and condition of interior
