Go sit in a Corvette and report back. I cant imagine that the C8 will suddenly be a significant departure from previous generations in terms of essentially every single touch point within the car. Different interior design yes, but itll feel the same. Maybe going fast is all that matters?

I have both the C8 and GT4 on order. I may drop the GT4 this round since the specs are so similar to the last. The C8 would be my first Corvette purchased.

It won't have a detuned GT3 motor as the present new one is capable of more power (450+) and cheaper. German forums and some on here are speculating that one will come due to the minimal upgrade of the new GT4 compared to the dieselgate inspired price hike or the ADM inspired one; your choice.

I need something interesting to watch.......instead of "Thoughts of the new Corvette"
My GT-4 build comes out at around 111k....... Aaaaaaaaa no, I'll keep my .2 GT3.........
GT4-RS with a really 4L motor, that might work!!!!

I used to have an NSX with a 6mt. There was one turn at PIRC where I would go back and forth between shifting to second and leaving it in third. What I gained shifting to second I lost shifting up to third. My Cayman with PDK just did the right thing faster than I could even think about it.

I think it's under priced and probably the best value per dollar you can get in a performance car today.

I think what he's saying is that for 981 owners to sell their cars, for ~$85k as an example, it would cost another ~$40k to jump into a 718 GT4.
Putting aside the subjective differences between the two (some prefer styling/sound/rawness of 981), are the objective engine/suspension tweaks worth a $40k delta over the 981. To that I say no.

Sure it is still a great value for anyone that wasn't able to get a 981 GT4.

I had a tough time deciding......for me it was the PDK availability and hoping the new 9A2 engine is mod friendly with lots of potential.
Styling on the 718 for me is good and I really like it...but that alone wouldn't be enough for a change.
Anyway, my 981 went to a new home and patiently waiting for the new GT4

A 4%/year price increase for 5 years is unusually large, for a car as subtly changed as 718 is from 981. And as far as the better motor, perhaps it is, but don’t forget that other cars have gotten faster in that 4 years also, such that “horsepower inflation” has eroded some of the 718’s advantage. In other words, it’s probably in relatively the same place in the World Heirarchy of Sportscars, whatever that is, as the 981 was in 2015 when it hit the streets.
