I've been reading today that the Spyder is for certain coming with a detuned gt3 engine so I'd expect the same in the GT4.

I have trouble telling if drive.com is bull**** rumors, though.

Not really. Thats like saying the GT3 should be turdbo and the GT3RS NA. From a business point it doesn't make sense to put 2 different engines into halo cars of the same and the corresponding nightmare from a business sense: parts inventory, certification, etc.

They are.

They regurgitate rumors spread by other "journalists" with no bother of citing a source... it's click bait.

I figured as much when they never cited any sources and laid in vague quotes from AP that seemed like they could have been years old and related to other topics.

A 440 hp cayman would quite literally be a dream come true. Please don't disappoint AP!

Try not to compare with the GT3, getting into GT3s zone doesn’t hurt porsche at all. Porsche is competing with other brands like m3m4 & c63, if a GT car can only be NA, only the best engine not the 3.8 9A1 can keep up with these turbo cars.

This is kind of off topic for the thread, but what do you guys think about other GT4 upgrades in the next round? I would like to see more front end grip to help deal with understeer.

It needs to understeer so 911 drivers won't crash them.

I dunno, I think the GT3 street car (and really the whole 911 vs boxster/cayman product positioning) puts downward pressure on the GT4 and that internal competition and product positioning is more indicative of where the GT4 needs to be than external competitors from BMW M or AMG. Porsche has never been a big $/hp brand and as is the 385hp GT4 has a way faster ring time than the turbo torquey 420hp M3/M4 and the 500hp C63 - the 3.8 keeps up just fine. Neither of those cars has been refreshed either so I'm not sure there's a lot of pressure from them on the next GT4 to set a much faster ring time.

However, there must be pressure to get the GT4 clubsport more power to compete in GT4 racing where the rest of the field is turbo and/or v8. Think McLaren (tt v8), Mustang (5.3L v8), Camaro (6.2l v8), AMG (tt v8), Audi (v10). At least BMW is still around running around 430hp tt i6.

I reckon / hope we’ll see an option to disable the autoblipper.

Easy. It already has it. Don't push the button.

Maybe not definitive, but AutoWeek published this last week: http://autoweek.com/article/car-news...ed-manual-back

They’re saying the GT3 NA 4.0 putting out approximately 400hp.
