Good to know...You are the first to say "always off"!

Many say this platform is tough to handle with them off. Now I am getting confused...LOL!!!

Maybe you are that much better than most of us!!!

The Cayman clubsport is a well balanced car with not That much engine. Of course its possible to drive it without aids, I Do it all the time with my 964rs and its the same principle, you have To get To the limit where you feel the car slips and become comfortable from there.

As for the previous gen cars it has not been installed unless aftermarket.
Correct. 992 Cup has TC and ABS is installed but can be turn on / off based on series. No ESM.

I installed Bosch M5 ABS in my 991.2 Cup. No TC. No ESM. Definitely a learning curve going from a street GT3. I've spun out more times in the Cup car in the past year than the past 10 years in my street GT3. I thought I was a good driver. I had to re-learn how to drive. My brain was programmed to drive with intervention (detected or not) and now without the aids, my brain is re-learning.

ESM will save you, no doubt, but doesn't help you in the 'become a better driver' goal. You could learn more about driving a car with a raw Miata or a 944.

BTW - zracer and I are friends... He's going around Oak Tree right behind me in my avatar.

TC is traction control. Tries to prevent wheel spin while on the power

ESC is electronic stability control. Tries to prevent you from spinning the car

Tech manual (on pg 685) says that the LEDs on the sides of the display will light up- the lower 2 on both sides will light violet for TC, the upper 2 on both sides will light up orange for ABS. Lights will flash for sequential interventions. From that it seems there is not an indication for ESC. I mainly just see the top row of leds for revs.

We have a 981 CS MR that is run strictly in WRL. Street tires. In the dry all nannies are off as it is the best way to get the car to rotate. TC and ESC are too invasive to drive the car at or near the limit. In the wet we leave all nannies on and drive the car off them. Using them to help control the slide if you will. For DEs and having fun do what is most comfortable for you depending on car control skills and objectives. Without question they can save you if you get into a situation.

On my 981CS-MR (first season) I leave them on. I talked to two race engineers from IMSA and SRO who said in testing a few years back, pro drivers were less than a second faster with aids off (track not specified). That was enough to convince me to leave them on as I'm only doing DE's. I also have two friends with the same car who are still faster than me so I know I have more driving skill to improve.

Have a 981 MR that I co-own and run in AER (street tires) and also another I run PCA. I’ve left both on this far and have not noticed it much. Other than the uphill at Lime Rock, where TC definitely kicks in big time. I personally don’t find ESC or TC that intrusive.

Turn 4 at Barber is about the only place I get TC to come on....but that is literally every single car I've driven there besides my 981 CS.
