Default Hauling the Clubsport

I have a 24 foot enclosed car hauler and I have hauled many different cars in it. However, I have never hauled a low sitting race car before and I have been told that the 718 Clubsport that i will purchase in February is pretty low. I usually just strap to the wheels when I haul and I am wondering if I will still be able to tie the car down in this fashion. I will also need some race ramps to shallow the ramp angle when loading and I am wondering which model of race ramps I should purchase as I don't have the car yet to take any measurements. Thanks in advance for any advice.

RR-TR-13's are what you will likely need. Those are what I needed to get my CS onto my Trailex trailer without scraping the hell out of front.

I've used race ramp "trailer mates" under the front tires to get some additional clearance for wheel straps. For loading ramps you can use the race ramps website calculator. I can look up the car measurements I used if you want them.

Thanks thuggo. Also, did you mean RR-TR-11-2's as they are the highest number on the Race Ramps site.

So for the race ramp calculator you need the height of the end of a yardstick (36in) placed with one end at the base of the tire and touching the underside of the front splitter. I measured it at 3.5in. If my math is correct that is an angle of 5.5 deg. This is with 640 front 680 rear tires. I think I had Hankook F200s on when measuring. For my trailex open trailer I used RR TR 5 5H ramps. Hope that's useful.

My GTB1 is really low and I have a 28' Haulmark trailer.........my 2 cents would be to buy the 2 piece low profile friendly Race Ramps. They are awesome!!!!!

This gives you an idea.........

Yes it is low. Does the front, you want over the wheel straps that then go to some floor mounted etrack or similar. This setup will let you tie down even the lowest cars. The rears can probably be thru the wheel, though I have not tried that personally.

I don't have etrack in my trailer, so zedcat's method of using "trailer mates" for tying down the front wheels will work for me. I think I'll also use some "trailer mates" on the rear wheels as well for added clearance for tying down, and so the car is high enough to use the exit door.

This. We haul our clubsport in a 28' enclosed ATC. We originally had the one piece race Ramps, but we had significant rubbing. We switched to the 2 piece race ramps (in photo above) and we have no issue with scraping any longer.

As far as strapping down, we have no problem running tire straps and strapping down that way. But, we cannot cross the straps in either front or back, due to the low splitter and diffuser. But, running the straps straight away has no caused any issues.

I would mount the rennline clips that attached to the lower shock bolt on the bottom and the front I believe connects to the frame.

Makes tying down so mu ch easier and quicker.
