Porsche of Lexington did close officially on 12/1. They (some of the guys at Porsche of Lexington) indicated their would be others, but I haven't heard of any yet.

GM needed to weed out some weak dealers, and to work on reducing inventories.
I know times are tough all over right now, but why is Porsche clsoing dealers?

They assume (just like GM) that the same number of people will still buy cars from them, raising the volume at the remaining dealers. No one makes money with low volume.

Be careful when using the term "weak dealers". I know of several "strong" dealers that both GM and Chrysler shut down (one of the Chrysler dealers was on the National Dealer Council of all things).

Champion went chapter 11, right?

I heard that a few other from big groups were an inch from chapter 11.

It would be interesting to get a follow up of brankrupt and closed dealers.

Anything is possible in this economy. Things do look more positive for the upcoming year though.
