how about an award for dealer satisfaction ? my dealer would be at the bottom of that list . i have been treated better by Ford , Chevy , Chrysler . its a shame .

I also believe that one of the reasons Porsche scores so high on the IQS is because most Porsche owners don't drive their cars much, and it takes more than 90 days to find out that there's an issue with the car. By contrast, a Ford owner probably racks up the miles quickly after taking delivery, and thus the issues tend to surface more quickly, lowering their IQS score. This might explain why Porsche scores so high initially, but so low in the long-term survey. I imagine Consumer Reports bases their opinion based on long-term surveys and not so much on initial quality.

In August of 2006 I bought a 2001 996 with 9,400 miles on it. Here I am less than a year later and I now have 21,000 miles on it. I drive it every day. All I have done is replace the mass air sensor (15k miles) and one of the seat belt receptacles. I've also changed the oil every 5,000 miles. Aside from that, everything is perfect. No noises, no loss in performance, no loose stuff, no paint issues. Nothing. So, am I surprised that Porsche receives high qulaity ratings? When I consider the fact that while my car has relatively low mileage but is closing in on being 7 years old, I'm not at all surprised.
