I make fuzz pedals and I'm not rich according to McCain. I have a lot of toys but I had my first two Porsches when I was in college, with no income at all, and I still know how to live cheaply except for racing expenses.

At 46 years old, I own 2 companies that I started from "ZERO". I earn as much as I need and my needs are modest. If I need, more, I take more but the result is that I pay more taxes so I am careful about crossing that line where "needs" become "wants".
More importantly, I am recession and depression proof because I have absolutely no debt. This is a hint that determines the very definition of wealth. To me, wealth means: I sleep well at night!!
Oh yah... and usually I work from home...

I am a 21 year old Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd Class in the United States Navy(It's cooler than it sounds, I fix jet engines). I make less that 20,000 a year and I drive a 1987 944 Turbo. It's definatly the coolest car I could afford.

I'm a 29 y.o. optometrist, aka eye doctor, and haven't worked a full year yet to know how much I make (I recently graduated). There is the potential in the Northeast to make $100-150k a year. You can make more in the South, but then I'd have to leave Boston, which is where I was born and raised. Oh, and I drive a 1996 911 C2 Cabriolet, which was my very early 30th birthday present to myself.

I'm 52 y/o; work as an ER RN; make about 85k a year, that's with about 4-6 hours of OT a week. Wanted to be a physician, but too screwed up when I was young. Had a lot of jobs I hated, figured out working as a nurse in an e.r. was as close as I could get to my dream job once I was 40. I was a volunteer in an e.r. as a kid, and have as much fun at work today as I did back then. Back in the '70's, a doc let me drive his 928 when they first came out. Last year, I realized I could afford a used one. My daily ride is a Bronco; because I learned that to keep the 'special' feeling of the 928, I need something to compare it to. Otherwise I'd wind up wanting a Ferrari 599.

I'm currently an exploration geologist. I got my start in the mining industry as a rough neck, loved the industry so I went to university and studied geology. I worked every summer on the drills, graduated with lots of experience and no debt. Now I'm working as a geologist that specializes in running drill programs. I'm 24 years old. I don't have a salary since I do contract work and I think this year I will be just shy of 6 figures.

28 years old and i make music all day, but it's a hobby and i will always pursue it, regardless of whether or not i make money. my last job was dealing, um...plants that people smoke (i'm in colorado, it's not a big deal)...but have recently relocated within the state and have not been able to get into a "real" job because my father was seriously ill out here on the east coast and i came out to take care of him, but he passed away last sunday from cancer and i've inherited his estate and money, so i will be going back to film school in the next few months back out in colorado, picking up a random part-time job wherever, and taking classes regarding investing and finances because i'm not going to blow the money my dad worked hard for. i've decided that i will always do the things in life that will make me happy, not rich, and i'm very thankful for what i've received from my father because it will enable me to do that. anyway, in my earlier 20's i owned a 951 and will be buying another one soon here in the coming months, just waiting to get back to denver and let things return to normal first.
