Default Brake fluid shelf life

I understand once a container of Brake fluid is opened it must be discarded because it attracts condensation.
What if the opened container is vacuum sealed?

I would dispose an opened brake fluid container. What is the opportunity cost compared to a can or bottle of new fluid? Buying new fluid has an inconsequential cost, all things considered.

Let's see - $5 saved on questionable brake fluid on a $150,000 car plus whatever you value you place on your health and life. The risk/benefit analysis is pretty clear.

Yeah, but it's cheaper than my car, or my life, and certainly cheaper than both combined.

You'd think by now someone would have developed a brake fluid that isn't hygroscopic.

I consulted with Ate about their brake fluid shelf life. The Ate TYP200 Amber has a five year shelf life, unopened in original packaging. There is a code on each can with the data.

Yep, we all agree on that. The question in the thread was about using OPENED fluid, albeit vacuum sealed. The questions are about the exposure during the interval it was open, the efficacy of vacuum sealing, etc.

Way too much thought to save a a few dollars on a mission critical item.
