Senior only in #. Just driving a Porsche has the ability to make one feel like a teenager.
Writer spent time every summer in Manasquan. Always looked foward to time at Seaside Heights. Was one ride called the wild mouse? I believe it wound up in the ocean mostly submerged by hurricane Sandy. May you enjoy your P-cars in good health.

I’m on my 39th 911, an ‘18 Carrera T, which I love. First one was a ‘67 911 in ‘74 when I was in the Air Force in the U.K. Also have had 4 Cayennes, 4 Macans and a Panamera. Don’t ask! I am definitely a Porsche guy.

Thats epic. I can only imagine the wonderful experience of owning a different Pcar every other year. Are you a dealer? Would you share the miles you have enjoyed with 39 Porsches, what was your favorite and any track time?
Very happy for you, thanks for sharing you passion,
May you have many more safe miles and many more Pcars.

83 here. Highest number I see. Owned 8 Porsche's since 1976-6 911's, 1 914-2.0, 1 944. Currently driving a 1992 964 C2 Cabriolet (a keeper) with Tiptronic--perfect for two elderly drivers here in Sun City West, AZ. PCA member for 42 continuous years. Done DE, TSD rallies, Concours, etc for many, many years. Good stuff all. Just renewed driver license for five more years--look out!

Hello Fellow “Seniors”,
I’ve enjoyed reading the knowledgeable RL banter while sorting out what will be my first 911 purchase. I last enjoyed the p-car experience in my 944 Turbo when dealers were giving them away in 1989.
With so many of you having owned more than a few 911’s, which model(s) would you say combined the best of looks, driving experience and reliability?
These have been my auto buying criteria in that order.

Thanks,
Stuttgart

Hey Stuttgart,
I too am partial to 911s. I love all the 991s. 1st., what is your budget? 2nd. do you prefer, normally aspirated or turbos? 3rd., type of driving, daily driver, are you thinking track events, drivers ed. etc.or hight spirited touring? I recommend test drives. Perhaps a pre -17 Carrera-s.(N.A.). A current Carrera-s(turbo), maybe same for a GTS. (NA & turbo). Try a Turbo, Turbo-s (amazing all around missiles). Finally, if more serious track time intended, a GT-3. Turbo-s & GT-3s are both very serious in different ways. All are great cars and could be used as crossovers and as a DD if need be. If your not a very aggressive driver, maybe a Carrera-s or GTS ?
Late model 911s are all very reliable. That being said, they say get the newest model of your liking that you can afford. A great option is a CPO car. Porsche certified, gives you an extra 2yrs added to orig.4yrs. of warranty & I believe up to 100K miles? Make sure you verify services & being up to date, completed & documented. A good test drive & perhaps a qualified independent insp.goes a long way. Good luck, lots of experts and opinions on this great site, in the end, do your do diligence but buy what you want.
Be safe, pullover.
