I always wanted to share this page, but never found a topic remotly worthy. I found it to be hilarious. Plus it directly mentions what i always suspected about the 928, in light of that 'dentist wifes car" thing.

Remember - Its just humor!

The Boxster is just not a low- end product at $50k.

One of the Doctors I work with said he gave less than 35K for his....but he did pay CASH!

Errrr, a word called Grip?
Never said it was a poor suspension design. I said that the 18" rubber helped to "enhance" the performance of the suspension. Since I run 16" rubber on my shark, it helped to make the Boxster feel more hooked up.

Fatties on a crap suspension may not make much difference. Personally I think it would.

Fatties on a good suspension will definately hook you up. I doubt there is an argument here?

Cheers

I feel the boxster was a strategy to penetrate the the Asian market .. Targeting "daddy's-rich" princess... for boxster is the kind of partycar.. that "sounds-fast", "looks-fast", ideal for phototaking sessions, furthermore it's so safe and easy to drive..

When Boxster was first introduced to Asia, there were so much media pubilicity(marketing) on it. Female celebs(HK, Japan, Korea...) can be seen driving their new Porsche Car, pose for pictures etc. Sales was very good.
VW adopted similar marketing approach when the new BUG was introduced.

I am sorry to say this but in Asia, the Boxster image is somewhat ruined by the number of babes driving it... definitely a female/sissy car... it could have been different though, if Jackie Chan was seen driving one...

It is always easy to dismiss the car that you do not own, but when you are on the defensive side, you got pissed so easily. This is the "mine is bigger than yours" mentality. All porsches are fine automobiles, they are all different, not better or worse. Why do we have to argue which one is better ? I am sure the 911 can do something the 928 and boxster can't, and vice versa. So for those who wants to argue for argue's sake, I say give it a rest.
Yes, but it would really help you to get your facts STRAIGHT first!

You can turbocharge your lawnmower, but it will always be just a lawnmower

Normy I own both, and I am sorry to say that the my Boxster will beat my 928 and both are stock factory cars. You may have modified your 928 to beat it, but then its no longer a fair comparison. I am not trying to put one of my cars down, it's just the way it is. If Porsche comes back with a new 928, I promise I will trade my Boxster in for it.

Here it is folks! I've settled the argument....

This is what the 998 should look like....part 928, part Boxster, all cool!

And the engine placement? Why, front-middle of course!

Now y'all have to get me into Porsche as the new CEO and it'll be a reality! In return, I promise to cancel the 4-door sedan project.

Bernie, If you can turbocharge a lawnmower, you have yourself a steady job. My landscaper takes too long and charges too much ! I will wash and wax your Fiero while you cut !!!
