Here is the route I have thus far. We land on the 17th in Frankfurt and will take the train to Stuttgart. Departing date is the 23rd from Frankfurt, so we will likely head to Frankfurt the night before the flight on the 22nd.

I need to fill the 19th and 21st with something that makes sense on this route... Suggestions?

April 17th, Arrival
April 18th, Delivery of Car and drive through Black Forest to Baden Baden to stay the night + Thermal Spa.
April 19th, Open...?
April 20th, Drive to Nurburgring, 1730-1930 Drive ring, stay the night.
April 21st, Open...?
April 22nd Drop car at Sindelfingen (I think), train to Frankfurt for the night.
April 23rd, Depart

EDIT: Dropping the car off in Frankfurt would really be ideal, but I am not sure if that would add weeks to North American delivery time?
For the 19th, may I suggest both walk around Baden-Baden (lot's of shopping, fooding, historic landmarks) and do a short trip to Wildline?

WildLine Hängebrücke, Heermannsweg 100, 75323 Bad Wildbad, Germany
https://wildline.de/

Wildline is like a park of sorts; there is a long suspension bridge to walk across along with a cool cylindrical slide thingy. We didn't make it to our trip because of scheduling conflicts but it looks like a fun low stress stroll.

^ Thanks, I will look into this! Maybe take the 19th to hit the thermal spas and stroll around this area. I am not a huge fan of rushing place to place without taking it in a bit. Quality of Quantity.

Edit,

I found a nice flight from Zurich to Home (Canada) on Saturday the 22nd. Hmmm. Wonder what happens if the car is dropped in Zurich. I need more info about drop locations and timelines.

I've done both Grossglockner and Stelvio in the past (separate trips) and I'd absolutely recommend NOT trying to do both in the same day. They're rather far apart and you want to enjoy each one.

Helpful, thank you... I suspected Stelvio was its own beast that deserved its own dedicated day... I will not try to fit them both in at once, but will try to rearrange my track to hit them both, one after the other... Maybe Go to Grossglockerner in the afternoon after Munich, spend the night in Innsbruck and then drive down the next morning to Stelvio (or something along those lines).

I have a couple more ideas potentially:

1. Lake Constance.
2. Neuschwanstein Castle

Both look amazing and seem worth a stop. Could potentially hit both in the same day.

What is really making this difficult is the drop off location (Stuttgart) and Nurburgring only be open on April 20th evening, its location is opposite of most of these sites. Ill play with the route on google maps and see if I can figure it out.

My understanding from this thread and others in the Euro Delivery section of Rennlist is that dropping it anywhere outside of Sindelfingen adds a Significant amount of time to the re-delivery process to North America... As for the Nurburgring, its unforgettable and worth going to! On a clear day, its really only about 3-3.5 hours from Stuttgart. I bet you could cut that time down with a big chunk being unrestricted Autobahn travel anyways

Heidelberg Castle tour is supposed to be great too... that could fill in your 21st day and make for a leisurely drive back towards Stuttgart

^^ Yea, I can't miss Nurburgring, that is epic. But also don't want to add weeks to get the car back in Spring either. Will stick with Sindelfingen for drop location.

I just did a route its 16hrs total drive ~1400k. I think I can easily manage that over 6-7 days. Plus, like you mentioned, un-restricted Autobahn = hammer down.

Here is the route so far. Stuttgart, Black Forest, Baden, Nurburgring, Lake Constance, Castle, Sindelfingen drop and home.

Been to both - I can't say I was impressed by Lake Constance (even before I visited Lake Como - which is about 10x better - on a subsequent trip). If you're going to Neuschwanstein, two things: one, reserve tickets WEEKS in advance if you want to get inside for a guided tour; two, consider touring its "sister castle" too - Hohenschwangau. They're close enough to each other that you can walk from one to the other (parking for both is at Hohenschwangau anyway). You can get a "King's Ticket" which is a tour for both (they automatically put a perfect amount of time in between the two guided tours of your reservation). Unlike Neuschwanstein, which is only 30% finished inside, Hohenschwangau was (is) fully finished inside.

I haven't been to Heidelberg Palace but I agree it looks nice - it's funny you mention it, as I just added it to my 911 ED itinerary last night! (Still waiting for an ED date - it's not looking good for July so I'm likely going to be shafted out of a factory tour at Zuffenhausen, which is unavailable from mid-July to mid-Sept ).

Keep the faith! My 992 is being built on March 3rd, and originally Joey told me I would be lucky to snag a spot in late July/Early August... I stayed on top of him with a weekly check in email and he managed to get me into one of the cancelation spots for first couple days in June! Plenty of people back out, and plenty of their "Prior scheduled events" get canceled in Leipzig... and then its just a short drive over to Stuttgart in your new car.

What does your build look like?

Please post your route/google maps. Id like to see.

Thinking of canceling the Castle and Lake, maybe stick up around Nurburgring or find somewhere to make it closer to Stuttgart?? Maybe into France for the day or two?

EDIT: I think Lake Constance and the Castle are out. Too far south from Nurburgring. Perhaps Rothenburg ob der Tauber or somewhere around this region that keeps us closer to Stuttgart region. We will leave Nurburgring after a lap or two, so 630-730pm departing.

Has anyone done a short wine tour around the Rothenburg ob der Tauber/Nurburgring/Stuttgart regions?? This could be an idea.

I agree with bobert75, Hohenschwangau seem to have way less people visiting than Neuschwanstein.

My two cents for Neuschwanstein:
1) Go super early if you can. You beat the tourists (and tour busses taking up space).
2) Before you leave the area, branch out to one of the local roads nearby to get some really nice photos of your car and the castle. This one is taken at 47.566273, 10.745878

This is the route that I have planned for June 6th - June 12th

Open to Suggestions of things to skip or add along here... The "Bormio" is just a place filler for the Stelvio Pass... Google maps wont let you put it in currently since its closed until May

You drive right under Highline179 in Reutte. That's a fun stop to check out the bridge and the few castle ruins.
