Car & Croissants 3 -- Chatham, NJ -- August 8
Same location -- a bit earlier -- 8 am on Saturday, August 8. We'll be there at least a couple of hours.
Woodland Bakery
650 Shunpike Road
Chatham, NJ
We had about 40 cars on Saturday so we are growing each time. Great to see all the Porsche's out there. Invite your friends with interesting cars -- all marques are welcome and add to the interesting mix.

I'll check the calendar to see if I can make it... an hour get together isn't worth my drive up there, but if you guys are hanging out for a couple of hours, then I think I can make the drive up there.

Wellardmac,
I've been to the first 2 and can say there were alot of interesting cars and great people both times. It usually starts to break up after about 2 hours. I felt the drive was worth it for me (about 50 miles), but I think you are a bit further away.
BTW, are you planning any drives this year in the fall perhaps? I was on a couple of your events in the past and they were both great!

Look forward to seeing everyone Saturday. We will be a go unless you see a post to the contrary from me. Our feature car (which will be the topic of a 15 min or so discussion from the owner -- like I did last time with my Daytona) will be Abi Singh's new Alfa 8C.

I'm around 1.5 hours away, so it's a trek for me, but if the turnout is good and people stick around long enough, then I don't mind making the drive. I'll see if I can make one of the upcoming dates.
I appreciate the comment on my drives. I've not had one this year, as we had another kid and that made organizing a drive tough. We might be able to fit one in in the Fall if the kids are up to it, so keep your fingers crossed.

Wellard,
Congrats on the new addition. Perhaps you could re-use one of the past routes to make the planning easier. I missed the covered bridge tour, maybe that would be a good one. I came across a covered bridge in NJ near Sergeantsville. Not a bad road leading up to it too.

The problem is beyond getting a new route - these drives are a lot of work in terms of logistics that are not so easy when you have to take into account the needs of two small children. A well run drive seems easy to organize, but in reality they take a lot of planning and work.
So, the upshot is that it's really not practical to host drives unless I have someone that it willing to help out with the planning and navigation and that's not going to happen until my kids get a little older.
As I said - maybe in the fall, but I doubt we'll be able to make it happen before then.
Any chance you can let me know where exactly you found the bridge that you mentioned?

I'd consider taking on managing a run when the leaves turn, going towards Peapack/Gladstone using Lake Rd (the most scenic spot I know in NJ, one and a half lane-very slow, but the most beautiful lake you've ever seen-and no one knows it) into Peapack/Gladstone-maybe we could stop at The Stable for a moment to see their cars-I'd set that in advance) then to Roxiticus Road over to RT 24 then back into Morristown.
