Default Porsche Driving Experience @ New Jersey Motorsports Park 10/27

Is anyone attending the event this week? I recently joined PCA so this will be my first event of this type. Anyone that has been to one of these events care to share their experience?

I went to one at Summit Point 2years ago. I brought a buddy but due to our group size, we were able to drive solo a couple times. It still wasnt enough time "for me" to get an idea of the cars, especially when the staff had no idea of the cars' options (e.g. - "Am I driving a car with rear wheel steering?"). Granted, it was my first time driving a "car" on track, and first time driving all cars save the Macan, even the 2nd lap I got to do due to being able to drive solo, wasn't enough time to acclimate to all the "first time-ness". Couple that with being instructed to keep the driving modes/settings in "Sport" at all times, again provides a limited experience. That said, it was better than nothing.

I concur. It's better than nothing and a good time. Somewhat limited on speeds and whatnot but that is to be expected. If you are just out to have fun, you will. If you are looking to drive something you want to purchase, I think PEC Atlanta is the better bet (but not free).

We were able to go "weapons free"...only slowed when those in back fell off pace.

I had a great time at the event! We pushed the cars pretty hard, particularly the 911 GTS. I was able to run solo in the car and with one other guy behind me, and the instructor let us rip. We caught another group in front of us near the end. I was also able to go hard on the autox course in the Taycan - which I started over-driving a bit near the end as the front started washing out on a couple turns. I'll definitely be attending more of these in the future!

On the track admin side of the fence, the PCNA program is one of the most well run programs.

I'm glad you had a good time! When will we see you join us at a DE event with one of your own cars?

Hopefully in 2023. I need better tires and a suspension refresh.

Nothing wrong with burning off some unsticky tires as long as they are not too old, especially when learning.
