They definitely slowed it down, pushes like crazy mid corner and exit, got it dialed in a little better last night but the set up has definitely changed.

Nice

Won't be on. Did more reading. I seem to be running out of FPS's in some cases in the new DK2. MicroCenter has better cards in stock, and my current card is still worth $$$ on eBay so gonna burn wifey points to run down there.

Tom, did you already schedule a practice or should we get one going?

Good practices last night. I'm still struggling a bit with getting the car to do what I want. It looks like we are all very close in times, so around Watkins it will be pretty close for the whole race if we stay in a pack.

Given the way the car handles, I'm thinking there will be self inflicted attrition. Avoiding said mistakes will be the tricky part.

I started to get more comfortable with the car as the second practice wore on... Felt OK considering I've been focusing on Codemasters F1 13/14 in the run up to the sim competition at the race this weekend. One thing's for sure, any mental lapse is all it takes in that car and you're eating armco.

You will love it.

Just have some patience. My DK2 has been a little bit pickier than my DK1 was, though I'm also messing with settings more.

There are 2 ways to run the rift - as an extended desktop, and in "direct to Rift" modes. iRacing supports both - for SOME people. I'm one of the lucky ones, it works in both. It seems that the "direct" mode is nice and incredibly smooth, but it sucks down the horsepower for some reason - I lose a lot of framerate. Extended mode is 2x the framerate but not as smooth.

Still reading. It's a beta product for sure - but when it works, it's bad ***.

Oh and they announced that positional tracking will be coming in the next 1-2 patches.

I'm gonna fire up a test session at Watkins. Have a few free minutes - probably won't be on the whole time but c'mon in.

Test session was interesting tonight. I came away from last night's session with a setup that felt great (Anthony's with slight tweaks). Hopped in Jim's session tonight, and the car had gone from perfect to having a ton of understeer. I think their weather model could use a bit of work...kind of frustrating

On a lighter note, I had forgotten how much more fun this car is than the MX5

I was finally able to do some testing last night, and I am having a hell of a time finding a good balance. The car either feels great on throttle, but pushes on entry. Or Im great on entry and oversteer on throttle out.
Should be fun tonight.
