Default DIY - Fixed wing install (from active aero)

This DIY specifically covers the GT3 Duckbill (only) replica. Many steps are the same for the aerokit replica as well, except the very end.

**Disclaimer: Unfortunately I had dealer coding done before I could take pics for this DIY, and they made it like a fixed wing so I cannot raise or lower my active aero for illustration purposes. So your experience will look slightly different than mine. If I can get someone to take the proper pics on a couple of the steps I can remove this disclaimer and replace my pics**

1. raise spoiler to fully up, manually, using PCM

2. Remove the oil and coolant caps so you can take off the engine/fan covers (make sure car is cool or you could cause injury with a pressurized coolant system). The engine cover it just held in by little dowels that are inserted into rubber grommets. so it pops right off

3. Remove the left and right "wing" covers as well. They are also held in by dowels inserted into rubber grommets (3 of them) so just pull up and they will come off. For the GT3 Duckbill, you will not need these anymore

4. on the inside top of the stock spoiler (side that's facing the back glass) there are 8 t20 bolts (pic) with little plastic covers on them kinda like dust covers. Then slide back the entire painted part of your stock spoiler

4 across the middle (pic-I'm pointing to where one of the 4 is if you're looking at the spoiler from the top).

On one side of each plastic cover is an indention for the flathead. Take a small flathead and carefully pry those open and remove the plastic cover (be careful not to drop them)

then remove the bolts (8 of them) (pic).

2 on the right curve (pic)

Then slide back the entire painted part of your stock spoiler (pic)

5. underneath the plastic spoiler section that remains, you will have 2 plastic covers, one on each side, that cover up the lifting mechanism. Theses simply pull off in a downward motion. (needs a little force, but wiggle back and forth while pulling down and they will come off). I could not take a pic of this the way you will see it because I can't raise the active aero anymore, but here is a pic of the cover *beside* where it would be, but it actually is underneath where the 2 bolt holes are showing (to the right of the piece I'm holding)

This allows you to reach the remaining bolts to take the plastic base of the spoiler off. There are 6 total:
4 t30 underneath (2 on each side. Again, I'm showing you pics of the holes from the *top* b/c I can't raise the aero carrier, but you will actually remove these from the *bottom*

and 2 t20 on top (1 on each side).

5. Remove the 3rd brake light connector and feed through the bottom hole of the spoiler. Now you can remove spoiler base.

I zip tied the connector to the larger connector harness at the top right of the engine bay. You will not need this connector plugged into anything (at least with the GT3 duckbill)

6. In PCM, manually lower active aero to the fully down position
7. remove the 2 bolts (1 on each side) where the GT3 duckbill will mount to.

8. slide new spoiler on and line up the 2 mounting holes. bolt them in with the included spacers (adjust as needed to get the perfect fit).

You're done! I recommend to get coding to no lift until 200mph PRIOR to you doing this install. Dealer told me they cannot edit this field, and instead will code is as a fixed wing. But if you have PIWIS then you can change the 2 lift command speeds to 200mph each so that it will never lift.
