ECU Make: Porsche

IF you are connecting via OBDII cable, 991_981_OBDII

If you are connecting direct wire to the twisted pair, 991_911

Thank you for the info peter.

For now I'm goign w obd. I just tested it w wrong ecu setting (seiman - from previous car)

This worked for everything except brake pedal pressure and no engine temp.

I will change to obd ecu and try again. I am waiting for the direct connect wire to come so I will need to run this next weekend at COTA. It will be fine. I will report back in couple hours after I make changes

Another question - I have built in ext mic attached to the harness that goes from aim solo dl to camera. I guess aim camera picks up internal as well as ext sound. I just watched the test video and There was a lot of wind sound just driving on the freeway. I placed the ext mic in the sliding storage behind pass seat. I think sound gets recorded from int mic as well. Perhaps I can put the gain down on the camera setting. Suggestions?

Go to Menu>Settings>Audio>Turn down the Internal to 0 and turn up the External to 50%

So, I want to confirm that your Race Studio 2 version is 2.56.00 in the top left (has the latest protocols for the configurations).

Then, create a Porsche 991_981_OBDII config with SmartyCam channels properly assigned, then "Transmit" to your Solo DL.

Then, plug in the OBDII connection to the car, turn on the key and with the laptop connected to the Solo DL, select Online in Race Studio 2 and verify brake pressure comes through when you hit the brakes. Car doesn't have to be running.

It didn't used to work, but I've heard it works now.

Thanks!

Peter - it is the latest version of RS 2 2.56.00

Reporting back w obd connection:

No brake pressure
No throttle
No engine oil temp.

Rpm, gps speed, water temp is working

I will create new profile and try again.

I'm running a GT4 with AiM Solo and OBD connection. When you do the configuration, make sure to check the throttle position. There is no brake data available. The other issue I've had is getting the proper "Calculated Gear" to work. I can get Oil Temp, again, check configuration setup.

Gear from the ECU only comes through on PDK cars, not the street GT4.

I recommend Pedal Position, not Throttle Position (unless that doesn't work). Nannies show in Throttle Position, your actual foot and brain shows in Pedal Position.

Here is screen shot of my live data

Brake pressure = ERR for error. Throttle position works now.

maybe this is limitation of OBD? weird....

The car isn't running. Fire it up and see if anything changes from ERR to reading.

Yes, this is why every GT4 setup I have sold people uses CAN. It hasn't worked before (brake pressure, fuel level and oil temp) over OBDII.

991 GT3 and GT3 RS does, though...

For gear, it's easy to add it to the automatic math channels when you open your data.
