I've never used that connection to the car (in over 110 installations on 981 GT4 to date and over 30 on 718 GT4, plus many more Clubsport variants of both) and cannot recommend it.
Must be direct wired.

You will not get what you need with OBDII on the 981, and nothing at all with the 718 GT4...

I think you said you use a Solo 2 DL, which would use Race Studio 3 to configure, interface and download information. You would use Race Studio 3 for your SmartyCam as well.
You can try the configuration under the ECU Stream tab as Make:Porsche Model: 991_981_OBDII and then transmit this to the Solo 2 DL. That should get you RPM at least on the 981 GT4 while using the OBDII cable and connection. Try that and please report back.

A CANbus has to be terminated at each of of it (imagine it as a straight line with the resistors at each end). The bus only needs 2 termination resistors. This is a good picture to show it https://tekeye.uk/automotive/can-bus-cable-wiring
I understand well with this picture.
Thanks for all the informations

When there is CAN present at pins 6 and 14 of the OBDII port, as there is in many 2008 and newer cars, if there is a device connected there, it needs to have a termination resistor enabled.
When you add a device to an existing CAN network, as would occur in a direct connection to a twisted pair within the vehicle, no termination is required.
