Default AIM Race Studio 3.08.02 will not stay up

I used this successfully at LRP last weekend, but now I only stays up about 10 secs and then gives me "AIM Sw has stopped working" constantly. Rebooted but no joy.

Anyone else seen this?

Never mind, upgrade to 3.09.01 fixed it.

I was going to say, the old software is not compatible with the new firmware!

Anytime the little blue cloud is lit on the top right of RS3 (when you have Internet access), there is new software and/or firmware downloadable simply by clicking that link.

Glad you fixed it!

Only problem was it wouldn't stay running long enough to click the link. Had to download directly from the vendor

This sounds like a file for the software got messed up. When their is a firmware compatibility problem, RS3 won't crash, it will give an error message and not connect.

This keeps happening. After I upgraded to 3.09 it seemed to work fine, then I started getting "AIM Sw has stopped working". So I upgraded to 3.10, at first it worked but then an hour later I tried starting it again and I again got "AIM Sw has stopped working" (pic below)

Is there a support line I can contact?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Jeff

I submitted a tech support ticket here: http://www.aim-sportline.com/eng/tech_support/index.php

Hopefully they'll be able to resolve this issue.

Jeff, please call Robbie Yeoman at AiM Sports West for direct response. He may be able to connect via TeamViewer and accelerate the pace of the diagnosis. I have updated seven of my own computers and since the first of the year (when I had trouble like yours) there has been no issue.

There is a bulletin that indicates there may be an antivirus conflict, also, when the .exe is called on. So that may be an issue, too. I would temporarily shut down your antivirus and try it again.

You Rock Peter! I temporarily disabled my AVG antivirus and the app stays up. Thanks a lot.

I guess for now I'll just disable AVG every time I need to run the app. Perhaps in the future they will come up with a patch for it.

Thanks again.

They are working on the problem now. There is a way to fix it without having to disable AVG everytime. Shoot me an email at matt@trailbrake.net and I can send you the instructions.

Jeff, just go to this page for directions on workarounds for AVG and Norton antivirus crashes.

http://www.aim-sportline.com/eng/dow...ftware-rs3.htm

Direct link is here: http://www.aim-sportline.com/downloa..._antivirus.pdf

Just need to add an exception in the antivirus for the AiM executable.
