A set of programmable shift lights. Highlighted in their 2016 catalog but not yet publicly released. Similar to the Motec SLM-C (economy shift light module). This feature is already included on the G-Dash, MXL2, MXG and MXS. Not sure how it's going to interface with anything other than a dash logger. I estimate it will be a little longer to reach market than Matt suggests... 😉

"I'm definitely frustrated by the inability of AiM to compared video of two laps side-by-side. I'd get an AiM Solo DL / Smartycam combo in a heartbeat if that feature was available."
Have you used the RS 3 video viewing. I think it is exacly what you are asking for.

VVBOX requires NO loss of GPS signal (hard to do at some tracks) to prevent distance measurement gaps. When there is momentary dropout, the laps cannot be accurately compared and the video is not able to be synced.
The AiM RS3 video comparison works when the GPS data is recorded reliably on the video, which is most of the time. When it is not, it doesn't break the laps out OR starts/finishes in a different place than the actual start/finish.
After my successful test and easy connection to the GT4 for CAN data yesterday, I see no valid reason for you to hold off...

Putting the Solo DL in the left corner of the windshield looks good; how about the camera? Here's an interior view of my car. Also, how important is an external GPS antenna for the Solo?

The Solo products have an internal GPS.
The left bottom corner of the windshield is a great spot that is easy to view but not in the way.
The regular clamp on roll bar mount for the SCHD would work great for you.

I would place the camera just left of centerline (facing forward) on the harness bar with the lens at eye level.
I would aim it towards the centerline of the front bumper and approximately 10-15 degrees down from horizontal.
The GPS is taken care of by the Solo DL and there is one cable to the car, one cable from the Solo DL to the camera.
The RAM aluminum V-mount is the correct mount for the camera.
I recommend the suction cup mount for the left lower corner of the windshield just above the dash.
