Default AiM MXL Pista Trade In / Sale Value?

We are considering moving to the MXL2 (need the second CAN) and I am interested in the trade in / private sale value of my current MXL Pista and harness.

I assume I can keep my current GPS module and use it with the MXL2?

Thoughts?

Cheers,

A new MXL2 comes with a new (optional for MXL) GPS-05, so you're best selling the MXL with the GPS-05 with it.

Thank you. This makes sense (I need to go read the full specs).

So, what is the value of the full Pista system?

Cheers,

I'd say a Pista is worth 40-50% retail. I think many are going to come available now that MXL2, MXG and MXS are out, and the value may drop from there if you try to hold out. Among other things I expect the Race Studio 2 software support to diminish over time, and the data file format is already different. While the analysis software will handle all platforms presently, I would not count on that.

Analysis will migrate to RS3, but AiM will support all the file formats. That is one of the keys to their systems - regardless of what system you have in a car, you can compare data (even between car and kart systems). This will continue, so the old file formats will be supported.

The MXL Pista is still a great dash/logger and has it's place. Used units in the $1,200-1,400 range are a great buy for many of the lower price race series like Lemons, Chump, AER, etc.

Maybe some folks would pay 1400 for an MXL but the MXL2 includes the GPS antenna and is 2000 list and my benchmark for used and obsolete race parts is not 70% retail. I will sell you my MXL and GPS from my SM for 1400 as I'd like to put an MXG in it.

I've sold several for $1200 with antenna, Data Hub and harness. I include configuration and support. They don't seem to hang around.

I will have a lightly uses MXL2 and accessories for sale shortly...

FYI, I've seen a few sell on eBay over the past 6 weeks. Might keep an eye out there.

Default MXS Strada

If you want a dash but don't need to download data, consider the new MXS Strada. They make a "Street Version" which has some cool alarms. Very well priced at $1129 with out GPS antenna. I have them in stock, free shipping and will do a better deal if you want to add GPS.

Cool product! I would like logging or at least predictive lap. It's nice it will hook into my smartycam though.

The MXS Strada will do lap time and predictive time if you add the GPS antenna. It also will do data recall after a session. Here is a link to the full documentation:

I have a once-used G-Dash, hub and EVO4 (customer wanted to move up to an MXL2 for the price of an MXS Strada, and it will do predictive AND log data for comparison later in RS Analysis. Have a full suite of sensors, patch cables and accessories at good savings, too.

Slakker?
