Default Smartycam hd 2 data cutting out

Having issues with the SC hd 2. Finally got the data (tps and rpm from the ISO ecu on my obd2 solo dl 996 gt3) to show up on the video after a day of messing around. I go to review the video and after 2 laps rpm and tps both drop off.

Anyone see this before?

If it worked then stopped, I would make sure all the connections are good. It sounds like maybe the OBDII connector became loose.

If the power supply drops (OBD-II cable backing out), that will happen, too. Battery allows the camera to continue but there's nothing to feed it. Are you using a Solo DL?

Yes, solo DL.

I don't have it with me, but can check when I'm around the car again to see if data dropped to it as well.

Yep, it's possible for the Solo DL to continue capturing the data if the power drops, but it won't send power and I don't think it will send CAN info to the camera, if power drops. Please check the Solo DL to see if the channels missing from the camera are missing from the Solo DL log file.

Is that a common issue you guys see via obd2 connections? Should I just convert to CAN and forget about the plug?

I don't know if I would say common, but it does happen since it's not a hard connection like the CAN. I like the CAN since it normally gives more data.

More data, and quicker (higher sample rate), too.
