Twice a year a do my own detail of my 911. I've learned how to use my Porter Cable by watching You Tube and proceeding cautiously. The products I use are from The Chemical Guys. Easy to use, great results. Clayed the car. Washed again, Polished with V38 Optical polish (black CCS pad), Glazed with Black Light (applied with CCS blue pad, buffed off with CCS red pad, wiped down with microfiber cloth), and topped off with M-Seal (applied with soft red hand applicator, buffed off with yellow CCS jewling pad) and wiped down using fine microfiber cloth with Hybrid V7. Came out nice along with new carbon fiber rear diffuser and door handles from Rottec. Now she's ready to go.

One last note. Yes a tree did fall through my fence which we are having repaired soon. A remnant from the tough Nor'easter we had here in October.

Absolutely stunning! Love the full leather and carbon fiber. Do you drive her year round?

The only thing I would change is the tire protectant, I'm not a huge fan of the shiny stuff. Otherwise you did a great job!

Thanks for the compliments. No I do not drive her all year. Here in the North East with the exception of this past winter it's tough to drive Dec through Feb. I put about 5000 miles per year on her. At a little over 10000 miles she looks good. No clear bra so she has a few "war wounds" on the front hood and bumper from aggressive driving. But that's what she was built for. I touch her up now and then, but what are you going to do? I didn't buy her to keep her in the garage.
When I drive my TT, I drive her to the max and then shine her up again and again.

Very nice! Good job. Maybe next time try Aerospace 303 as a tire dressing. Nice, deep. rich, matte finish.

Good job! I too detail my own cars. I find it a good way to relax and enjoy the beauty of my cars.

I also use some products from the chemical guys and the Porter Cable does the job well.

Looks great!

I'm looking for cleaning, polishing and detailing advice here to keep my car looking presentable. Don't have those issues with the white Boxster and didn't with my silver Cab, lol. My last black car was a '64 XKE, I told myself it would be my last.

Clean black cars remind me of a sunset. They only last for a few minutes.

nick49 +1 I had a black car from 2003 to 2007 and quickly realized that a black car gets dirty just sitting in the driveway.

Excellent work Jay. I have always done my own detailing and as, a new Porsche owner, I like to see what products others are using. Tires are tricky as I like a wet, glossy look but that look is always short-lived as dust sticks to the tire treatment.
