Default Paint Protection Films

Is there an advantage to using one brand v another?

Just picked up an Acura RDX and need a clear bra recommendation.

TIA!

I've looked at a couple of options and when Spring arrives I'm going with a company who provides my local dealer with service for new cars. Its the 3M product. Seems to be a "thicker" film material than the others I've seen. But the main thing is that they have the "patterns" for my car, and they do a great job.

Paint protection film (PPF) products protect the leading edge of your vehicle from damage caused by rocks, gravel, salt or insects through the application of a thin and virtually invisible urethane paint protection3M Clear Shield, Avery, Durashield, Hartz, Llumar, Premier Protective Films, Stevens Venture Tape XPEL and probably a few others I am forgetting. Like all products its best to research what's available before you decide.

A company with a good customer service reputation reputation is a given, product and installation quality plus proper maintenance product recommendations (or their own products) and a worthwhile product guarantee.

A company worth looking into - Premier Protective Films International (meets all the above criteria)

Choosing the right film is important but I think finding the right installer is even more important. A hack will damage the cars paint and it will only be evident after the bra is removed. You might also consider a custom install that covers the edges and has full coverage. This will make cleaning/waxing much easier.

Good luck!

You can go on 3M's website and find a qualified installer.

There are so many films out there and they have their pros and cons. As mentioned above, it's the installer that's more important than the film itself. Do your homework and find a few reputable people in your area. Then pay a visit to their facility and look at their work. That'll help you decide what to do.

I have 3M Ventureshield on all my vehicles. Its a little thinner than the older 3M so probably not as rock resistant but the coverage is practically invisible.

I was quoted approx $ 1,150.00 for partial front end with mirrors and bumper. This is more expensive than some other guys, but these guys do the new P cars and in the 3m product. Come Spring I'm gonna gettr done ! (they also asked to keep the car overnight to ensure no problems)

Look around. The Acura dealer (Penske) is also listed on the 3m site. They wanted almost $1k for the same job.

I also got the scotchgard. Nice 5 yr warranty from 3M. If a rock gets through, they peel, paint, replace.
