Default Best way to seal Cast Aluminum A-Arms and other Al Parts

Hi
Now that they are all cleaned up I would like to try to keep'em lookin' clean.
I was going to use a clear acrylic or enamel paint after I used a Adhesion Promoter
I bought a bottle of Zoop Seal, but was going to use that on the polished stuff i.e. Intake Manifold etc (shinny stuff) vs the cast aluminum stuff
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated
Here is a picture of the A- Arm... not a great picture
Thanks in advance
Ed

Leave them uncoated and clean them occasionally with a citrus based cleaner like P21 S Total Auto Wash. Mine still look new even after a couple thousand miles since I last cleaned them.

Yeeks
Too late ...
I was concerned that its going to rain here so I had to make a snap decision...
I went ahead and coated them with a clear primer and a clear coat...
I think they look pretty good ?? I'll post a picture later ...
That cast aluminum is so dam porous, when that brake dust gets in there,. is a PITA to clean
I guess your correct, if you just stay on top of it, and don't let is get to dirty ...
I really spent days cleaning these dam things !!
Thanks for your advice
Kind regards
Ed

That's just wrong! Unless of course you like the yellow waxy look.

Eddie I wouldn't worry about it. Realistically not many paints adhere well to aluminum unless proper primer is applied first. Most bare aluminum is either powder coated, primered/painted or anodized. Silver Anodizing might be a solution as well but you would have to strip the bushings out and send it to a plater.

If you're not using the car as a daily driver and mainly on weekends/sunny days you should be fine. Definitely keep us updated on how its holding up.

I will... It is really only going to be used infrequently ( if I ever finish the dam car)
I would have loved to take them off, but I pulled off some much stuff already, that I wasnt supposted to pull off, that I am 5 yrs into a 2- 3 month rebuild
Kind regards
